    Collapsed lifter

You might be right. I feel like I'm the only one with car troubles in my extended family. They are all into the Jap cars, my issues with them is i hardly fit in (6'7) and they sound ****. Oil and filter change just every 10k. Cousin is a mechanic so he does services for me. Regards, Stuart.

    Collapsed lifter

Update.. Decided to go with a complete top end rebuild including the extra bits.. timing chain, oil pump etc. They have agreed to do it all for just under $5k. Think I'm done with holden... will sell her when fixed. I'll still lurk the forums though ;) Regards, Stuart.

    Collapsed lifter

Small update. Engine is apart at C&A Auto fashion. Quote was $4,400 to do their full DOD delete kit + new slightly more aggressive cam. Now its apart they say the cam bearings need doing and there is lots of carbon on the pistons. Extra $1,100 to fix. Have also said all done and dusted for...

    Collapsed lifter

Hello guys, Thought i would contribute my experiences to this lifter thread. I have a s2 ve L77 (afm gear but disabled), can see in my sig i think. Engine started making a tapping noise, took it to my mechanic who pulled rocker covers and said the lifters and such all looked fine, he wasn't...

    Aircon actuator

Hey, I know this thread is 5 years old, but I don't see any more recent one for this topic and I had some info to share. My s2 ve started the clicking on startup few weeks back. I read through a few of the topics here then found this via google...

    VE sportswagon tailgate rattle.

Hello mike, I have a s2 Ve ssv wagon and I also have this hell annoying rattle from the boot. As far as I could tell it was the boot lining, not the actual tailgate? I actually pulled the lining off and stuffed some low density foam in there, then put it back on (kind of a frustrating thing to...

Harrop stage 1 vs GM motorsport

Not sure about vf's but on the ve's c&a received awesome reviews. But the thing that convinced me was the fact they have so much business. Have a drive down there, they are pumping through the cars so obviously doing something right. Their prices were good, they have their own dyno they tune...

    more kw

Just to add a little to this, for what it's worth. I went through a similar situation to op's (2011 ssv manual, aiming for 2-4K rpm torque) Monster provided decent solid evidence that triy's would be best for me me, and that I didn't need a loud exhaust. The problem I faced was that no...

Want to add extra USB port....

Hey fab, That smokers kit plug is what I connected up a voltmeter/2xusb port socket to. I only mounted mine into the back of the 'ash tray' part. It works no worries though for charging the phone. Would assume just running a cable up under the dash across to the drivers side would be fine...

    Holden Ve Battery saving mode

Nah man I'm no mechanic. Got a cousin I send my car to for repairs :) Least you know what it is now, shame it wasn't the battery as that's cheaper but ell well.

Car won't start. Won't even crank up

I'm only a novice at car electrics, but your problem is almost definitely fuse related. If it was me I'd just start pulling and checking each fuse, maybe somone with more experience can tell you which fuse to check and where it is.

    Holden Ve Battery saving mode

I'd guess your drawing more amps than your alternator is putting out, which would be pretty hard to do if the alternator is working properly. And/or battery is stuffed and not holding charge. Always worth checking battery first as they can just die one day. Running a sub and an amp will speed...

Looking at buying a ve wagon around 2010..

I am pretty much in your position Craig, except i have a cruiser for the more offroad camping trips. I purchased a SSV because i had to have a V8, and wanted leather for the kids in the back. I lifted the front 1inch already (Plz no hate :p), and will lift the back when i put HD springs in...

Hello Vr304, Yes a supercharger would be awesome, but out of the budget for sure. I did price one up. I haven't read too much about cams yet, but i believe one would help. That will most likely be my next mod, but that's for another time (most likely not for a year or 2 yet) and another thread...

    VE commodore radio reception problem.

This is an old thread, but i had some additional info that may help. My 2011 ve s2 sportwagon had awful FM reception most days. Some days it would be fine for a while, others very bad. My issue was different to what has been mentioned here so far. I pulled the dash apart and the right hand side...

Hello Monstar, Its ok I can cop a bit of 'I told you so' from you. Since you did indeed tell me so, lol. I spoke to Autofashion about reinstalling the old mufflers, but it was going to be another 2 week wait. Dandy Exhaust swapped them over for me today. Have only driven it for 5mins back to...

    Another VE Exhaust Thread

Hello again all. Another update on my progress. Monstar - I still could not find a performance shop who wanted to install tri y's. So i just went with what they recommended. I worked out a spreadsheet narrowing down to 3 systems i was interested in. All 3 systems are 1 3/4 4into1's and 2 1/2...

    Another VE Exhaust Thread

Hello all, No finished product yet! But I thought I should update. I have spoken with 3 performance shops now and none of them say I will gain anything much down low from going the pacemaker Triy's. I tried to push it with all 3 shops and all 3 greatly recommended against. Seems the general...

Thatsguy - My car is also a Manual, but mine is a wagon. So your system still may drone in my Wagon as they are very prone to it. Dimetime - I actually forgot to ask about the bi-modal setup. I've thought about it a bit though and at this stage i don't think i'll do that. I'll see if i can get...

Ok so i drove over to C and A Autofashion. Unfortunately they were having problems and didn't have the car ready as expected to listen to. The guy initially was pretty aggressive, but calmed down once he realised i wasn't concerned. **** happens sometimes aye. They do seem to know what they are...

Thanks guys. Dime time - contacted autofashion today. Will be popping down tomorrow for a chat with them. They seem promising, and that video was a good insight. Thanks guys for your replies. NZ-gtr thanks for clearing that up for me. Dime time - thank you I will send them a message. Monstar- mixing up mods is not something I am comfortable with. I just want to get the full system done then not have to think about it anymore. I mean I already can't...
