Installed LED lights, now throwing codes

Yes. But finding high quality H9 globes locally is next to impossible.

Installed LED lights, now throwing codes

I prefer the ECE to the DOT sytle cut-off - a bigger portion of the left side of the road gets illuminated. The flip side though is that you could bother someone with the glare by driving in their blindspot (or near it) on a multi-lane road. I am not sure if this is the case only for HIDs in our...

Installed LED lights, now throwing codes

The eBay version is at full brightness within approx. 5 seconds. So, they are not ideal for high beam. My experience has been that it's better to have an Osram Night Breaker or something similar in the high beams. LEDs look bright, but the light is usually blue-ish and hence do not go the...

Installed LED lights, now throwing codes

Get the VF specific HID kit from eBay. In terms of light output and spread, they are far superior to any LEDs you can buy at a reasonable price and miles (or kilometers) ahead of the stock halogen globes. They come with a handy ballast unit which replaces the headlight dust cover. As a bonus...

    Approximate value

Redbook should be able to give you a good idea of what your car could be worth. Use that along with an insurance company's quote of market value and you should have a fair understanding of the actual value of the car.

    Light issues.

Installing a 100w bulb into the OE setup will most likely damage the wiring and/ melt the projector assembly. The 100w bulb essentially doubles the amps drawn. The fuse might have blown due to overload, but the non-HID low beam headlights on VF seem to be on a separate circuit (controlled by a...

Yes, it is. Accessing the DOC connector would be impossible otherwise - unless you are a trained contortionist that is ;)

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

Not sure if that is good or bad :D The readings with half tank of fuel was a lot more even across Rear Right and Front Left. But even then, FL was reading a few millimetres higher than RR

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

So, I measured every corner, from the bottom edge of the rim to the bottom edge of the guard. As @panhead suggested, I took the readings starting at the 10 mm mark. The readings from 4 corners are (Right side = Driver side): Front Right - 655 mm Rear Right - 640 mm Rear Left - 655 mm Front Left...

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

I don’t have junk in my boot, no towing accessories, strut towers look perfect, running on stock 19” rims and tyres. My ride ‘comfort’ is also close to another stock Calais I drove recently. So, maybe I’m measuring it wrong. For the current measurements, I used a tape measure, eyeballed the...

Now, its my turn to go OCD. My 2016 Calais V (V6, 72,00kms) with stock suspension and 19" rims is riding between 385-390mm front and back. The back is slightly lower than the front. It doesn't have any tow accessories, has a full sized spare and about half tank of fuel in it. I doubt if the...

    SV6 vs CalaisV buying advice

Do share post wash photos and give @RevNev some competition. I saw an S1 SS/ SSV in Regal Peacock shade the other day. It was filthy, but that colour was still popping.

    SV6 vs CalaisV buying advice

Your car is b.e.a.uutiful, but not many of us have the resources/ skill to pull off what you did - while still dealing with our daily lives.

    SV6 vs CalaisV buying advice

I stand corrected on that one. I meant what you said, but used incorrect words to describe it. The SV6 lacks those two passive, warning systems. Thank you @Skylarking I don't use either of them, but atleast I don't have to stare at two blank buttons on the steering wheel ;)

    Gen-F2 GTS "T"-Boned

Ouch!! A dash cam - even a basic one - is a big help in handling such situations. All my cars have this one accessory added on day 1 or as soon as 'Vitamin M' permits it.

VF Calais V V8 - way to firm up suspension without breaking the bank

I don't know if its the suspension sagging due to age, but the ride height on my stock 2016 Calais V V6 looks ok to me. Does the redline ride higher than this in stock form?

    SV6 vs CalaisV buying advice

I went through the same question and debate a few years ago. The vote swung in favour of the Calais V due to the following: - Prussian Steel body color (love it to bits) - 19" Calais V wheels (SSV style, but lighter grey on the wheel barrel) - HUD - Perforated, flat bottom steering wheel (with...

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

Thanks @RevNev - will you be able to make a similar comparison to the F1.5(?) setup on my 2016 Calais V (V6)? My car is at 72k kms and its on the OE setup. The ride is comfortable but a bit too floaty for my liking. Over broken roads, I certainly feel the harshness too. I suspect that my 19"...

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

This might be a naive question - but if GT Sport is similar to FE3, woudln't it be better to buy OE FE3 parts? Is cost the only factor that swings it towards the GT Sport shocks?

VF Series 2, 3.6 V6, Calais V, oil leak prob.

As mentioned by @NJD-1992, this seems to be a common occurance on the LFX. My car is also a VF2 Calais and it has had a tiny bit of seepage on the front left side of the driver side rocker cover, from the day I bought her home (~31k kms on the clock). IMHO it's not worth tearing apart the engine...

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

I'm with you on the ride height. Holden could have done a much better job with it. Your car looks like a million bucks - except for that antenna. Ever considered using a bee-sting/ stubby version instead?

VF 3.6 high pressure A/C line leaking. A few questions.

I'd suggest that you go to the new dealer and explain the problem you are facing - rather than the diagnosis from the other dealer. Maybe you don't need a high pressure line replacement or maybe you do. Let them work it out.

VF Calais Grille removal and replacement.

I can relate to that. I add something to my collection only if I really connect with it. Most of the streaming services do not come close to the quality delivered by physical media and you never really "own" these streaming media either. My 'collection' is not big - less than 100 music albums/...

VF Calais Grille removal and replacement.

I figured as much. It's rare to come across some who uses CDs/ DVDs these days - that too for a workshop manual. Heck, I have a sizeable movie/ music home library on CD/ DVD/ BD/ Vinyl and many think I'm a dinosaur in the Netflix, Prime etc. era ;)

    Sunshade unclipped???!!!

I think you are right. On my car, that “unfinished” part looks a lot more “finished” and is presented in a darker shade. I realised this only when I took a closer look today. You can probably stop busting the balls of that detailer @CalaisVF2013

    VF Evoke Transmission Issue

It sounds like one of the brake shoes could be stuck on rear right side. This should ideally (but may not always) throw an error code. Do both rear wheels rotate freely when you are in neutral?
  34. MaxCommie689

    Overheating VF Evoke 2015

I'm assuming that there are no obvious coolant leaks you've noticed. The thermostat should match the Holden factory specs for your engine - something outside the specified range (rated higher or lower) could make the engine act up. Air pockets in the system can also cause overheating. So, I'd...

The one on the right side (in all of those listings) is the male. PS: You don't want to misgender anything/ anyone mate - unless you want the wrath of the crowd you don't name ;)

Yes, it is. You need the male version. I see several cheaper options though.
