    VX Berlina - The Daily

'spose while I am here, should update this too! Got the Grange wheels sorted - completely restored and repainted, they do look good. Rear sandwich plate on the rear of the motor let go - meant gearbox out, strip the plate, new gasket, new rear main while I was there, and all was good again...

1998 HSV VT GTS - My Toy

Been a long time between drinks on this thread, figured it was high time for an update. Motor has been out, nice and fresh now - essentially had a full rebuild except the heads were not removed from the block, bores were not touched, and original piston rings retained as they were still in...

1998 HSV VT GTS - My Toy

Bolted the standard wheels back on it the other day, much happier now. Clutch master cylinder has crapped out, so need to replace that now also... the list of items to do for rego is getting shorter!

How to Wire up VZ Interior Sunglasses Light to a VY Centre dome light connection

Magic thread bump. I ended up here after trying to wire in the holder into a VX Berlina. Was able to work it out with the help of the pictures here, however my car was slightly different. Have created another thread for the mid-spec BCM with BCM switched negative (Violet wire), and how to wire...

[How To] Wire up VY/VZ Sunglasses Holder Lights to VT/VX Berlina/Calais

Heaps of guides around on the lower spec'd models such as the Exec, SS, and all those in-between, but nothing about how to wire it into a mid-spec or even high-spec BCM car (Berlina, Calais, Statesman). The guides I did find online, show you how to wire in the holder, while retaining the dome...

New temporary rims... swapped the VE wheels for these! They will eventually make their way to the WH instead, and the R8 wheels will go onto this.

Picked up a complete set of front and rear VS Statesman part-leather seats the other day, with door cards too. They're all a little dirty and worn, but a damn good clean and some leather treatment and should be good to go. Finally got my hands on a new airbag, no more ripped plastic for me...

Hmmm... shoot me an email instead mate. mistikal @ gmail . com I'm only willing to sell them as a pair thou, the other one would be useless to me by itself.

[MISTKAL] - 94 VR Acclaim - Daily Driven Junkheap

I've still got a pair the same as what is in the car, except the reflectors have started to fade. They're not the same ones as linked in the top post, reflectors are still somewhat red whereas they'd completely faded. Paid $70 for the pair that I have now, how does $40 and you pay postage for...

New bonnet and bootlid fitted today - been sitting in the garage for ages, just didn't have the motivation to fit them. VS Calais Rear Seat is out, was ROOTED - fitted a VS Acclaim rear seat for now, nice and clean :D Replaced all the door cards with VS Acclaim Items - not a mark on them :)...

Haha I'm told that alot - however, it's only that "low" because it's still got all the standard suspension and it's done AT LEAST half-a-million k's :)

[MISTKAL] - 94 VR Acclaim - Daily Driven Junkheap

OK! Haven't updated this in quite some time. New wheels - VE SV6 18" Rims, bore honed out and tyres to suit. Using Ford Focus wheel nuts (larger acorn). VR Calais seats installed - picked them up for next to nothing as the back-part of the rear seat was missing. Level 3 Dash Cluster...

[MISTKAL] - 94 VR Acclaim - Daily Driven Junkheap

Few major updates... 1) LPG is now GONE. All that is left of the system is a brass line still bolted under the car but cut at the transmission tunnel and at the diff, the filler cap and the little LPG tags on the rego plates :) During the removal of the LPG, we worked out why it was using...

Looking really good mate - if it was in WA, I'd be keen to buy it off you and register it as my daily! Have always had a soft spot for VN Calais', and this is one tidy unit :)

    removing springs

With the rears, undo the bottom shock bolt, usually easier than attempting the top bolt. I found that it's easier to jack the bottom of the shock ever so slightly (makes it a little easier to undo), and to also have a friend stand with their foot on the rotor applying a little downward pressure...

Will front springs to suit a VT shock fit in a factory VR shock?

I knew VP-VR was different (well, VN and VR), as the VN has the ball joint at the bottom of the shock. Getting a set of VX2 FE2 struts in the next few days, going to whack them and a full set of Kings SL's into the VR and see if it makes it a much nicer car to drive.

Will front springs to suit a VT shock fit in a factory VR shock?

As above... got a set of Kings springs sitting in the garage gathering dust, from back when I owned my VT. Just curious to know if I can use them in the VR, before I go pulling the car apart. From what I've heard and I'm only taking it as gospel at the moment, they can be used - but I just...

    [MISTIKAL] - 02 WH International

Doubt it'll be ready for MV next year, possibly the year after that, see how I go :) All I will say is that the idea in mind has been pulled off on a VZ SS, thou the wheels on it were disgusting!

    [MISTIKAL] - 02 WH International

Yeah goes well, she's a bit more banged up since these pics were taken as the car had to be used as a daily for a while, got a few shopping trolley dents and other scratches in it which is a shame. Never-the-less, there are plans for it :D Plans which I will keep a secret ;)

[MISTKAL] - 94 VR Acclaim - Daily Driven Junkheap

Yeah the photos make it look a million bucks haha. It's got around 25-30 hail dents in it, rear bumper is held on with Tek screws, not to mention that there are heaps of patches over the car where it's been touched up with Bunnings $3.00 Spray Paint :D Popped a tranny cooler line today, not...
