yeah my parents had a vl where the entire fusebox melted, which screwed nearly everything inc fuel system... was not cheap to repair... i don't want that bill funnily enough...

yup, planning to do that before i put the new globes in as you can already see some melting of the box as it is... don't worry i'm not the type of person that want's electrical fires under my bonnet...

Hi all, looking for some advice re. high beam/low beam globes. normal ones really don't cut it so i want something brighter, i have already replaced the lenses with some aftermarket ones which made a world of difference, they went from 1 candle's worth in each side to about 3 candle's worth...

whats the glow that seems to be a very very hot point on top of the exhaust?

Hi all, my vl recently had the distributor and coil replaced and ever since then it has been continuing to run for about 2-3 seconds after i turn the ignition off... i would take it back to the guy but he's on the other side of town so just wondering if there's an easy fix... thanks in...

hmm my bad i misread it then... in that case i can't help...

it will all work fine except the oil guage, someone else can explain that... i don't know that much... but it just plugs in the same as the other one no problems...

DO NOT damage the cap... it is needed for roadworthy... easy enough to flip it out with a small flat head screw driver, or if that's not thin enough, maybe a knife blade or something... just don't lose it or damage it...

I'm pretty sure that the ute has the same wheelbase, although don't quote me so you should be able to get the gear out of one of them as lots of the utes were manual...

yeah thats quite normal, all but the newest cars that run gas via an injection system get crap economy on lpg, which also affects your economy on petrol cause the car's tuned for gas not petrol... mine is the same... around town i can only get around 300k's to a tank and thats if i'm REALLY...

if you want to test the alternator, grab a multimeter and check the terminal that leads to the battery for volts, it should read something like 13.8V, just remeber to disconnect the wire that goes to the battery otherwise it can give a misleading figure... and especially remember to reconnect...

they do have a redline, cant remember exactly somewhere around 5k but i'm very sure no actual limiter...

I dont think they have a limiter as such, but i've been told not to rev it past 5k as the stock ones tend to do bad things past that... not much point going past that anyway as standard cause they just start slowing down, no power up past there...

prob represents the diff between engine displacement ie. 3L and 5L and auto or manual... just a guess...

Hey, sounds like an alright buy... i had the same problem with the gearbox some time ago and all it needed was an oil change... try that before you pay for the auto service...

results hey guys have noticed after the car was fixed, it seems to be getting about 100k's less to a tank... the car runs on gas, and usually gets about 350 to 400ks but now about 250... would this be a result of the work done or just a coincidence and something else is stuffed...
