I tried tweaking the title, but wasn't very patient and it wasn't very obvious how you do it, so I gave up haha

Firey torches and pitchforks????? Crikey, that reminds me of my first missus!!! ...in that case I will keep going till somebody complains LOL

    Uniqe home for a V6

Easy peasy stuff, ECU is no problem, I can get one already with a base tuneup in it, and I know where I can get 650CC side feed injectors for peanuts....and good old pocket parts will have plenty of 4 cyl side feed fuel rails for me to use. Hell, I might even make the manifold with 16 injector...

    Uniqe home for a V6

I will be a pain and make it a guessing game, but here is a pic of it, and it is easy to see why I suddenly went off the little old Buick....it would cost mega bucks to make one half this strong LOL This one has 6 bolt main caps, full mains stud girdle, forged steel crank, forged steel conrods...

    Uniqe home for a V6

Well, the BMW idea was dropped suddenly as soon as I found out that they are an aluminium block, with treated bores, no sleeves. What that means is that when the bore wears, you throw the block away, or have 12 sleeve's put in....not going there!!! I have snagged a nice deal on a V8 instead...

From what I have read about them, they have pretty stout internals too. I need to get some dimensions first though, to make sure it would fit okay.

I hear that, a 4/71 would look way cool sittin on top of the Buick. Trouble is though, it is the turbo rush that I love, and it is quite easy to make power with hairdryers. Doesn't matter what engine I use, it is guaranteed to be fed by at least 1 turbo.....I got offered a 5 litre V12 BMW engine...

Naaah mate, the whole idea was to have a unique race car, so now I need to change things a little, and theirs is a featherweight moly job, mine is nearly twice the weight as it is plain steel, so it wouldn't even be close!!

Here’s a lazy, jumbled update showing the braking system, which is all done now. It is a mish mash of parts from Holden, Mitsi, Toyota and Nissan, so I didn’t have any manufacturer bias there!! haha Next job is to mount the battery box, run the basic wiring, then put the metal side panels on...

Good point ARI, I will do some sniffing around. I don't mind what it is, as long as the bottom end is pretty solid. Cheers

    Uniqe home for a V6

Golly, I still haven't been able to get myself motivated to take some pics and do a decent update. Mind you, things might take quite a turn for this jalopy now. My idea of putting a twin turbo V6 in an Altered is no longer unique, as some other local guys are doing exactly the same thing...

Oh bugger!!! if I knew that many people were stopping by to have a nosey, I might have made more of an effort LOL Have actually been wasted this last week or so with the shitty H1N1 flu thing, that sure knocked me flat! I will get out to the shed in the next few days, take some pics and do an...

You're a sadist ari !! LOL Engine's back out....worst one yet, I have never killed one in a single day before, usually takes a cpl of months  If I find any gnarly bits, I'll get some pics of them too

    Uniqe home for a V6

Believe it or not, the VL did make it all the way home.....mind you, it sounded pretty ugly and was probably only a few turns from spitting out all it's innards. I pulled the engine last night, I might have a look inside it later just to satisfy my curiousity.

    Uniqe home for a V6

Well, I broke my 8th Turbo'd V6 in the VL today, so that car is done and dusted, I give up, FAIL !!! I can concentrate on this one now, but I will need to do some soul searching though, I am starting to wonder if it is worth continuing with the V6 idea, or save up and shove a bent 8 engine in...

THE END This is the official end of this thread, I have wasted far too much time on these fragile Buick V6's, my current one broke during tuning today, so I am officially over this idea. :bang: If I decide to keep this car, I will go over to the dark side and use an RB30 like everybody...

I like the body lower too, must get back on it ASAP. You are not mistaken, the motor looks teeny tiny in there, I have decided to change the location of the turbo's to make it look bigger, I will mount them behind the engine now, rather than off the side of it. Silly little Buick, someone...

7 !!! and that is a true amount :help: but I have a spare in the shed...... The one in the car is still fine I reckon, it was running steam train rich, so I didn't rattle it... I think I did manage a first, second, third gear skid too.... BOOST ADDICT !!!!!! LOL

    Uniqe home for a V6

Golly, I have been slack, still no progress on this jalopy this week. I have to spend some time getting my other money sponge reliable again, (my twin turbo VL) then I can throw some more time at this one.

    VLV6T5TT Wahooogon

Woohoo, I got the old girl going again today, and considering I am running 390CC injectors on a standard memcal, it didn't go too bad. It is fluffy low down, but when you feed it the right foot and it clears itself, it pulls nice and hard, and is making 5 to 7 pounds boost. If anybody has any...

I can't wait to see you perform your black magic, it really is quite fascinating to us "noobs" LOL I have read up on it, but I am one of thos tactile types, unless I see it done, it is all bullshit and meaningless heh

    VLV6T5TT Wahooogon

Crikey, this thread is about as dead as my car. I have stolen the fresh engine out of this for my racecar project, but I just slipped another quite low mileage stocker series 1 Buick in the hole, and just need to get Mr Delcowizzid to wave his magic wand over it, and we should be back in...

    Webber crash f1

When I circuit raced we were always told the same thing at driver's briefing.... the onus is on the overtaking driver to make sure the pass is safe. Makes sense to me. webber tried to bully him and lost out. No need to cry baby about it.

    my 66' impala hardtop :)

I know it is difficult to tell with your stunning fotograffy, but is that a metallic green you are doing the old girl in ari? Only asking, because it looks exactly the same colour my old 69 Impaler hardtop was, mine was a bogged up shita that looked good fro accross the road, but if anyone...

hahaha ari , me too , even though it is off a '34 Ford!! shock horror. It doesn't belong to me, it is only on loan so I can make a fibreglass copy of it, just as well too, because it is heavy and worth over a grand on it's own. When I have made a copy I can shorten it a tad too, if I need to...

Cheers mate, I am busy pissing around with the body at the moment, to try and make it look better. I am thinking of chopping the roof more, and extending the bottom of the body down, and raising the whole thing a bit ... maybe ... who knows!!!

    Uniqe home for a V6

I spent quite a bit of time messing about mounting the body today, and found out I had to chop the roof panel out of it, or I would not be able to see the christmas tree at the track, so that would be useless!!! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Experiment with a radical rake on the body And...
