I have used a LC6i LOC on my series 2 SS and very impressed by the results. No noise or issues and provides a remote out to turn on amps through signal sensing. Saves modding the head unit and voiding any warranty issues should problems arise.

That would depend what brakes need replacing. $1300 to replace my HSV rotors as opposed to $220 to get them machined? I still have plenty of meat on the rotors, just started developing a little shudder. Thats a $1080 saving, a difference to me!

Maybe the prop shaft uni joints. The VX has rubber 'donut' dampners at the shafter ends in an attempt to reduce vibration and clunking- helps but doesnt solve! I believe the VT didnt get these rubbers and used the basic uni's which, like everything, wear out resulting in a clunk.

I think alot of people jump at the 'piston slap' option at any noise from the engine because it was so widely publicised. The LS1 is a noisy bloody donk. As black 346 said, lifters are a common thing too. The big symptom of piston slap is excessive oil use, check that 1st. Does the noise go away...

No they dont, you can buy a steering wheel control whatzy from the states for a bit over the $100 mark which bridges the aftermarket deck to the steering wheel controls. I didnt bother, in the 6 months I had the stock deck in place I never once used the steering controls. Too awkward I think...
