    I believe another option is an electric power assisted steering rack from a Holden Astra (Vauxhall and I guess Opel Astra) that way you would be able to get a lhd unit.

    I wouldn't fit a VP diff as the axle housing is wider than a VK axle housing and you will have problems with wheel offset. Don't go later than a VL diff, they are wider but not much over the VK, only a few mm. As for the cable, I don't know. I swapped mine over and got the cable with the diff.

    A black one would be close I think. I bought mine from Ford as the early XR6 ran the same diff ratio with the T5 box. May not be available now due to age, maybe ebay.

    I tried mine with a Pedders heavy duty rear bar before I tracked it and it felt good on the road but on the track it was hopeless, even the standard bar makes it a pig. I have a tight LSD from a VL turbo. I wouldn't want to run without a front bar.

    I have a VC Commodore with L67 and I used a VS K frame and VL rack. As my steering column had play at the coffee cup I replaced the column with one from a VL as well. That way I got the coupler as well. It's a straight bolt in, no mods.

    No it won't foul as I had a VN V6 in my VC with the VS booster. Just cut the adjusting screw off flush with the end of the rod, put some Loctite on the thread so it can't unscrew.

    If your VN booster is fitted okay you can just bolt a VS booster straight in. Just remove the adjusting screw and cut the head off and screw the rest back in flush with some Loctite. Use the VY master cylinder.

    I have the VT brake setup on my VC and found I had rear brake locking so I had to fit a bias valve to prevent this happening. I think fitting more powerful rear brakes could cause more rear locking.

    VL rack will bolt straight into the VN K frame, I used a VS frame in my VC.

    I have them in my L67 powered VC, they stop the manual box from hitting the transmission tunnel. You will get more noise and vibration but would it really matter in a HiLux? I don't think they are that bad but My car is gutted and makes a racket anyway.

    I just fitted a complete VL steering column, simple job. The top bearing in my VC column was shot so solved two problems at once.

    If you have to remove the sump I would trim about 6mm off the oil pump pickup cover. Less likelihood of oil starvation if the timing chain tensioner lets go.

    Standard L67 coil packs are supposedly superior to the MSD items. I am running 1mm plug gap but boost has been increased with a pulley change.

    The large round plugs are by far the best, that's why they are used on all semi trailers. No flat plugs found on semi trailers.

    vt super6 or vs 5l?

    All supercharged are auto unless you do a manual conversion. Cheap power can be had simply by changing the supercharger pulley and a few adjustments to the memcal. Reckon it would out perform the 5 litre. I have an L67 out of a VT in my VC which I converted to a manual.

    I used the AU Falcon reservoir, no need to modify anything. Just swap the reservoirs, no drilling required.
