mine does this to, mainly only the change between 1st & 2nd, rest are pretty smooth. some times i can hear a faint kinda ringing whine noise too before the shift. mine doesnt like feathering the throttle much in traffic either.

have had look at that site, good info, but doesnt explain what symptoms of faults are very clearly, just made me more confused as to what to do. Car played up real bad today, had to try at least 10 times to get it to start. half of those times was turning the key but nothing happening at all...

mine was done before i got it, was told they were kings, but i reckon there dolbi, as there that kind of blue. shocks look original to me, could do with replacing , as they bounce a little on rebound.

stereo is aftermarket. no issues with battery at all, cranks strong when it actually cranks, almost every first start stalls imediately now, then usually 2nd attempt ok, getting suspicious of the ignition barrel. but not really sure what that would have to do with it ? certainly not the ignition...

i can safely say its not the starter relay. im now curious if its anything to do with fuel. either injectors or pump ? or an associated relay or diaphram ? because if it doesnt start properly after 3 attempts, it then takes a handfull of cranking to fire the next time.

the starter relay is the next thing im looking at, to be honest i havent used the car in over a week, so havent been thinking about it much. would the dealer be the only place to get a new relay ? For now, i have just swaped the relays around, as they are the same between the start relay & the...

digging up an oldie i know, but as this is the closest description ive found on here, to what my car does. i was wondering what happened in the end with gazza's car & vt100's.

well that didnt work either. it still did it a few times today, it will start then shut off straight away, then have a little bit of trouble starting ? or not turn over at all ( no clicking either) .

i dont have a spare, which is unusual for a holden, as the keys are bulky, & hard to lose you would think., id say that the company that owned the car for the first 3 years had them stored somewhere & never gave them back when they traded up.

might have to give that a go i think, i just finished removing the starter & the connections looked good, gave them a clean while i was there, but i dont think the starter has any issues at all, im sure its something to do with the key or ignition barrel or something to do with whatever kind of...

they were already on the car when i got it. there Roh brand, dont know the style name though, there shadow chrome, which looks good , but hard to repair kerb damage. Cleaning battery terminals didnt cure problem, so will have to inspect starter. at first i thought it must be something to do...

just cleaned the powder off the positive terminal, there was quite a bit, so hopefully that cures it.

This happened to me this morning, first time, its given any hint of a starting issue. My battery is near new, so guess it is either just a dry starter or that auto switch. it reluctantly got going on about the 7th try. will wait & see if it does it again.
