[Ecotec] Curious of real power gains

Unfortunately not. Check out the link below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1kITxtjKRg "This run was testing the Mace Engineering 12mm plenum and 25mm manifold spacer and a cold air intake. It made 114rwkw" If you had nitrous you would see 200kw at the wheels no problem.

    Vy front and rear speakers

Yes 6.5 fit no probs, not to hard to do just need to remove door trims swap speakers out, find a nice place for the crossover. routing the cable through the door can be a bit tricky. Sounds best if you mount the tweeters in factory position. Amplified is always going to sound better. Will have...

Will speakers be ok with this amp

Hey matey, The OAX801 is a subwoofer amp, not for speakers. The TS-A1674S speakers are rated for 35RMS so they dont need much power. In the option audio range you can pickup the OAK75 4 channel speaker amp which is what you need for speakers, its only $120 brand new. the OAK75 puts out 75RMS...

    I need new speakers

I'm assuming your price range is below $350. I have Alpine type R splits in my rear doors (Use to be in the front) which I paid $320 for... I later upgraded to Sound stream Reference Splits which set me back $350 and honestly they literally Sh*t all over the Alpines. The Alpines are rated for...

advice on new mono block for subs

Your fusion amp and sub combo are fine... Sub: Powerplant 12" sub Amp: Fusion - PP-AM20001 Check all your connections and make sure nothing is shorting out, especially the Ground cable. That Kenwood amp (Only 950rms) doesn't put out as much RMS as the Fusion one. That shop you went to are...

    Amp and Sub combo??

The gain setting is dependent on the headunit. Some H/U only needs the gain to be set at 20%. Mine (A shitty sony xplod) needs to be at 55%. A good way to tune the sub is have the Headunit volume at say 85% - 90% then slowly turn the gain up until it is as loud as the sub can handle. You will...

    Bass help and Soundstream SPLX15

Hi, I want to run 2 monoblock amps, one amp per sub. I currently have 1 x 2100rms @ 1 ohm amp and 1 x SoundStream SPLX15-HX sub which is rated for 1250rms. If I were to get an additional 2100rms amp is there a better sub combo I could be getting? I can pick up another SPLX15-HX for...

    Amp and Sub combo??

I didn't read the question properly... To answer your question you probably had the gain set to high and the excessive heat has cooked the coil. Like I said that sub should be able to handle 600rms.
  13. J

    Amp and Sub combo??

That sub and amp will run with each other without any worries. That sub could probably handle 600rms @ 2 ohm with no dramas. For the money your paying though there are better options out there. I would recommended you just save your money and get a bass setup in excess of $1500+ Better to...

    2 x 4 Gauge or 1 x 0 gauge?

Thank you all for your input. the 0 gauge fits nice and snug. Clutch grommet was easy to get out and put back on. Just have to pop it out from the inside of the car (after removing that plastic cover) just above the pedals. Bass is louder now :) and 0 gauge looks awesome plugged into the amp.

    2 x 4 Gauge or 1 x 0 gauge?

Cheers guys. I went with 0 gauge. Picked up 5 meters for $75 inc gst. Seeing as my car is auto can I feed the 0 gauge through the clutch grommet? or is there a better place? Thank you.

    2 x 4 Gauge or 1 x 0 gauge?

Hi, I have a 2000rms monoblock. I already have 1 run of 4 gauge from the battery to the amp. Is it any good to run 1 x 4 gauge to the 4 Chanel amp and 2 x 4 gauge to the Mono block? I thought I may just use my T distribution block and have 2 x 4 gauge running into that and 1 wire going...

Fire insurance aye?? That sounds like a good idea! My wagon is insured for $12500, I could go back and buy a VS again, that beast will be pumping with a $10k system lol. 0 gauge.. If it's only the 1 amp, 8gauge will just be enough. Ideally you want 4 gauge, it's the best starting point when you get into car audio.

    good 6x9s

The only thing wrong with Alpine is their prices. The 6x9 Alpine type R's have a rather small magnet and the frequency response isn't that great for 6x9's (60hz - 29khz). If you can pick up a new set for $150 you should get them (the new model that is)...

The amps and sub sound really good. You can get way better speakers then those JBLs. Get a nice pair of vibe slick splits ($130) or black air splits (unsure of cost). I know from experience Vibe sound really nice. I have a set of Alpine type R splits in my car and the Vibe blackairs splits ****...
