T-5 clutch/flywheels to handle big power.

Howdy guys, I'm here stateside looking for clutch/flywheel options for my T-56 swapped Firebird. Estimated output at the crank could approach 450kW/800Nm with this setup. Will be daily driven on around 300kW levels but turn up the wick for spirited driving and trackday events. Looking...

    2000 Pontiac Firebird V6

T-56 is swapped in, probably 1 of 3 known V6 f-bodies in North America to have a 6 speed manual now. This is all thanks to the adapter plate made my Mal-Wood! Got a new camera, trying it out and getting the feel of using something a little more potent than my kodak easyshare  Got a...

VT V6 Hi-stall. yah or nah?

FWIW, I daily drive a car with a TCI 3800 Super Street Fighter stall for my V6 Firebird. I've got ported heads/intake pretty good camshaft setup and longtube headers. I get around 21-22mpg city driving only with my car. So efficiency isn't too bad even though when it is cold it takes a while...

    Custom intake question

I'm guessing I'm that person. Hiya Skimpish. Looks like we're joining together in plundering the Australian salvage yards for Holden Ecotec parts since all of ours are getting scrapped!

Just got back from a dyno session at Texas Speed & Performance, I've been nervous all morning hoping everything would work out okay. I think I was more nervous than the day I got married! As many of you know, I've been doing part throttle and cruise tuning on this car for quite awhile with...

Still trying to find time to tune, working full time plus school lol! Had to install 130# valvesprings as the 105# ones didn't cut it and I feared I'd be getting valve float. 130's on the left, 105's on the right. New license plate too :)

8 months in the making. As of 9:00 am, the car finally breathes again. View Video on FQuick Still need to check the pushrod preload after it idled for a few minutes, neighbors have some contractors doing some work from their garage and they were both looking outside down the street like...

Whew, busy freaking day. Had to stay till 11 when I was slated for 8pm clockout. One of our techs got food poisoning after eating at McDonalds. So my anticipated rolling of the Firebird into the garage has to wait until tomorrow morning. Time to attach the sensors to the wire loom, install...

    Yella Terra 1.7 RR's

Yeah, this is a learning process. You mod one part and find another part down the line that won't cut it anymore, won't fit properly again or interferes. I've been replacing parts as time goes on because I've found things here and there that just aren't going to be up to snuff. Car is going...

Running LS7 lifters, and I anticipated different length pushrods with the build. I'm calm now lol! I'm not upset or anything I just wanted to get the information out there. I've got a set of valve covers on the way for $200usd so we'll see how that goes. And thanks for the input chargedvx6...

Just a thread to inform everybody in the market about these rockers. Here's a few things I've learned while performing the install on these rockers. I figured I'd post this up as the company informing the customer seems to be very lacking or it is not common knowledge to those here in the...

Engine assembly is coming along well! I am beat. Working on pulling the k-member off and disassembly for almost 12 hours total yesterday. Need a place that I can set the tubular k-member on for assembly now... SLAMMED! <Pulled rear springs/struts for something different

New Guy from across the pond!

Picked up a tubular K-member (engine cradle) with road racing reinforcement. Should lighten up the front end and also allow more room to work! Compared to the stock stamped steel k-member, this thing looks like a featherweight!

    stall converters

If you do a stall, I recommend adding a transmission fluid cooler. On most stock autos, the oem cooler is insufficient when you run a higher stall converter.

Well I had some work done to the heads, had .020 milled off, going with a .045 MLS gasket to bump compression to something more like 10:1 over the 9.3:1 of the stock setup. Looking forward to this getting finished, going to be picking up some other parts soon... Here's the progress that was...

You would need the upper and lower intake manifold, it is an Ecotec V6. You'd also need to get some of the sensors figured out, etc etc.

    Cam for V6

I'd say contact a shop and have a custom grind with a good lobe design developed for your intended build or desired outcome. You might pay a little more for a custom grind with some shops, but it can be worth it in the end.

    Cam for V6

There's a guy here in the states running 12.3's on a custom cam, but it is VERY agressive. It went 120 passes and busted off one of the stock valves, instant disappearing piston! His installed seat pressure on the valve spring is really high, so that's what caused the failure. He's in a stock...

L67 was used in alot of FWD cars, but not in the F-body. It would have competed with the V8 sales too much over here.
