thanks for the info guys, and yes dayvo i have thought about powder coat, got prices from 100-140 per wheel plus refitting and balancing, so i though id paint them. worst case if they dont turn up very good ill get them done down the track. i have done some painting before just not a massive...
hey guys,
I recently bought a new vf redline ute in prussian steel, which means it came with polished alloy wheels. I'm wanting to paint them gloss black and just want to check with people that know more/more experience with painting wheels.
Right, wanting to know the correct order...
sorry, i replaced the whole seats. i tihnk they cost me $600 for the leather bolstered thunder seats. original seats had not bolstered cushioning so made it alot better.
seat covers between series 1 and 2 in the ss seats i think fit but not 100% sure. im sure they changed the foam but not sure...
theyll fit fine mate, i changed my sv6 series 1 seats to a set of series 2 thunder seats i got from the wreckers that had only 5k on em. fittment was fine and alot more comfy then the originla seats.
Wouldn't the sun heat your paint more then the engine anyway? I know my paint is too hot to touch after sitting in the qld sun. And after a long drive I can keep my hand on the bonnet more then when it's been in the sun.
have a talk to ccp forum sponser, great people to deal with and will give you heaps of options and advice. im thinking a good clean and shampoo should get rid of alot of it
Worst case get some floor mats.
you could check out Flat top hardlids they are in melbourne, ive got one and im in brissy and they are a good qualtiy lid and depending on the lid you will come well under the 1800 mark.
find another mechanic, my mate just replaced my front left one and i watched him do it, took all of about 15mins only a few bolts. i believe you can buy the bearing/hub as it is one whole unit for a bit over $100 on evil bay or from a store i think i had to pay about 200. but that was for the...
I had same probably not long ago from hitting a pot hole. My problem was the bearing/ hub housing it's all one unit. Once replaced haven't heard it since
To get the correct load rating on my ute i had to go to a 255 wide tyre to get 97y. The minimum for mine is 96y. But I think it got changed for series 2 utes...I'm probably wrong though.
just slide it forward and pull it out, and for the bulbs they should work but unsure whether they will need a resister or sometrhing to stop them flashing faster as it will draw less current but i guess u can try it and u will find out.
hey mate, i think the dealers do offer a camera that goes through the lcd screen, not sure on price though. but i would imagine that one of the mobile guys would be cheaper. i plan on doing the same with mine in the next week or 2. u could try hitechandsound. com. and theres many more around.
larger rotor, so u are braking further out of the wheel so creating more torque/leverage, if that makes any sense. same sorta thing like using a wrench and putting a pipe over it to get more leverage
Speaking of carbon cleaners and such, what would be the best to use and where abouts/how do u flush the manifold on these engines. Been meaning to do it since I put my catch can on. Cheers
the kiwi wifi i believe u can also run other apps like dash command and others so u can see all the real time info like revs etc.. but im sure one of the others on here with more tech info would be of more help. bigboss comes to mind.
not sure of any aorund brissy, but when i got mine i got it from flat top in melbourne, they just freight it up. there are plenty of places around and im sure someone else might knowof some others that theyve had experience with.
have a talk to Mace Engineering forum sponser, they just finished development on the LLT sidi cams. as far as im aware they are the only ones around that have them currently

Hey mate, been covered alot over the last week or so. Falken fk452 is what alot of people are running. I've never been happier with them awesome in wet and dry
the brembos are just a straight bolt on, i think u have to cut a section out of the backing plate to allow for the bigger caliper but other then that good to go. and i think the redline wheels are +48 offset?? but i dont know what the minmum offset that is required
^^ i was going to say the same thing lol. once i pulled out of the dealers driveway that was my run in period, had to see what it had seeings i came from a 4cyl. but as stated regular oil changes. my oil gets changed every 5000kms and ive never had a problem and runs fine
nice job on the vinyl wrap, im looking at doing the same thing, how much wrap did u need to wrap the console, steering wheel, and dash bits. is one sheet at 1.5m x .5m enough??
