Manual gear changing what do you do?

Clutch in, gear change, clutch out, rev match if required. You get to know that sweet spot with the clutch as you go along and can put your foot back on the accelerator sooner.

    What fuel do you use?

Trust me mate, fuel (among many other things) are much cheaper in NSW. After my move earlier this year I was pleasantly surprised. It's sad that Brisbane isn't going to take on the challenge when they could with ease.

2010 ve SV6 ute Just not for me anymore :( New car ideas?

I actually like the Subaru WRX. Not sure if you can get a non-turbo one though. Second on the list is a Toyota Hilux. There's heaps of fun to be had in a 4WD.

    What fuel do you use?

I wouldn't worry about fuel supply, there's two in Brisbane that will be able to pick up the slack.

    What fuel do you use?

I work at Central Stn so it wouldn't be too much of a diversion to take Victoria Rd. I've noticed even with the E10 the exhaust smells a little sweet, especially on first start.

Hornsby, NSW. Checked the United site.

    What fuel do you use?

I just checked and my closest E85 Retailer is 20 away. Might fill up with it next time I'm heading that way.

    does size matter?

The chicks who say size doesn't matter aren't telling the truth, in my experience. I'm sure that doesn't mean they want to be torn from tit to toe though. A reasonable size is required to fill and stimulate the clit. A bit more than a handful of boobs is good so you can shove your face in them...

Holden iQ system won't turn off!

I had a similar problem with the door switch in my last VE and Holden just fixed it (at no cost) during the next service.

    What fuel do you use?

I'd consider getting my car 'tuned' for E85 if I could find a vendor with the fuel close to home.

    What fuel do you use?

Potentially, I'm just going by what's written in the driver's manual.

    What fuel do you use?

That was factory tuning. You obviously don't have a Series II SS to know. Thanks for the input though.

On a warm day, windows down is great.

    What fuel do you use?

Traditionally, I've only used Shell V-Power 98 in my car but recently I've started trialling Shell E10 91 to see if there's much difference. My VE SS 2 is tuned for E85, and I've noticed 2-3L/100 increase in around town driving and next to nothing in power. Will also try some United E10 95 and...

Young and with lifestyle related illness

Since changing career from the media industry to the railway industry (and also moving from Brisbane to Sydney), I've made a concerted effort to eat healthier and be more active. It has helped to drop some weight so far. I'm not getting any younger and don't want to be a medical wreck as I get...

    Vx smells like petrol

When I owned a 2001 VX S a few years ago, it did the same thing. I had Holden look at it many times but the conclusion was that it was an older car trait and not to worry about it unless it becomes significantly worse. My fathers 2001 VX Acclaim does the same thing too without any problems...

Does anyone know how activate iMessage? I've signed in with my AppleID and it seems to verify my login but still says "waiting for activation" under the iMessage option. Any ideas?

    NSW bans misleading petrol prices

There's is a very reasonable rail service for most areas of Sydney Metro. More people should take advantage of it.

VE SS series 2 clutch safety switch

I always depress the clutch when I'm sitting in the car, but often during Summer in QLD I start the car to let the air-conditioning cool down before setting off. That's why it's helpful here.

Where would I go to have the safety switch disabled? Local auto electrician?

    ve 15k service

You've just gotta know your prices and make Holden agree to a cost up front. They've always had the brains to see things my way at Village Holden Petrie.

    VX high rpm rattle/noise

My manual VX S did the same when you pushed it out to 3,500-5,000rpm. Holden said it was probably an exhaust rattle.

sexual harrassment and work place bullying.`

I have worked in hospitality and now media and advertising and both work places have housed scores of people with their minds firmly in the gutter. 2010 VE SV6 SIDI Manual

Two things - make sure you've timed the clutch release, gear change and accelerator squirt perfectly, but let the revs drop more before carrying out the aforementioned.

    Manual or Auto?

My philosophy is - if it hasn't got three pedals, it isn't a real car. Same with a Driver's Licence - if you haven't got a manual licence, you haven't really got a licence at all.

SIDI SV6 SERIES I - excessive engine oil consumption

My MY10 VE SV6 burned quite a bit of oil up until about 30,000km then it settled down. Seems like a common, self-rectifying problem. Just keep a good eye on your levels. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-17.744322,168.319485

    2010 VE SV6 SIDI Manual

I normally change mine at 2,000-2,500rpm. Works well for City driving. At other times, I've pushed it up to just under redline in every get to get moving quickly. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-17.744253,168.319314

2010 ve sv6 sidi leaking oil?

    Question about SV6

My SV6 has 42,500 on the clock. It used quite a bit of oil between 15-30,000 service but has settled down now. The car is serviced at Holden and they use Castrol Magnatec so I assume it won't do my car any harm.

Heel-Toe vs Rev Matching On Downshift

Heel-Toe is a bit of a challenge in a Commo because the throttle and brake aren't level and if the brake pedal is depressed until they are level, the braking intensity is too much. Rev matching is much easier - know where your clutch grips and give the throttle a squirt just before that point.

    Tow Bar for VE SV6

$725 isn't too bad. I think I should have a chat to Village Holden at Petrie.

    Tow Bar for VE SV6

The Allin ones seem to be about $525 + harness. If there's very little difference in price, I'll go the 2100 over the 1600.
