Tell them to keep the car overnight and for the foreman or other senior workshop staff to drive it home. He can monitor it with the scan tool and when (if) it faults record all engine data and look for a cause.

Thats pretty much your only option with a car that faults intermittently and doesnt log codes.

Loss of earths will log trouble codes as will open circuits, shorts to ground or voltage and high resistance.

i think i can help with this.. the company my dad works for uses many 3l sidi wagons as a part of their fleet and being a large company, holden doesn't want to loose them as a customer so he gets some good treatment at the local dealer. the car also has similar km's. anyway his car does the exact same thing (we call it the 'harlem shake' heh). car shakes as if its misfiring and stability fault appears. it also severely limits power and scared me shitless on the freeway (no emergency lanes). anyway he has had it into the dealership multiple times and they find no faults. the most recent visit involved holden uploading new car software (??? i call bullshit on this one) and they replaced the throttle body and inlet manifold. so far its fine and he reports that the car idles and accelerates smoother too. from the time the work has been done it would have harlem shaked at least 2-3 times annnnd it hasnt :) hope that helps

This happened to my dads 2009 3.0 SIDI wagon about 6 months ago and he took it into the dealer and they couldn't find the problem but somehow resolved it. Had exactly the same issue with my 3.0 SIDI sedan just after I purchased the thing. Felt like it was running on 3 cylinders and the engine light was on along with the stability control fault. It was still under warranty and so I took it in. They did a full check up of the thing and it just happened that one of the guys who helped design the engine was at the dealership. They ended up pretty much stripping the engine and found out it was due to a carbon build up on the valves. They cleaned it all up and I haven't had a problem since. I did some more research into it and seems like it can be quite a common thing with the SIDI engines.

I am having a very similar problem! except mine is a dual fuel and its shuddering on LPG exactly like you explain. I will be ringing Holden Australia to make a formal complaint tomorrow and taking my car in for the SEVENTH TIME on Tuesday. I have been already instructed to write a letter stating the issue, that its a repeat issue and that my car is under warranty till September and that I wish for the issue to be rectified before then. That way when its out of warranty, apparently if the problem is still there it covers my arse and they are legally obliged to fix it without any charge.

Last Friday, I went to pick up my car after 2 days of Holden (and the LPG specialist they outsourced it too) having it. I hadn't even made it out of the parking lot and had to go back into the office and have it booked in again. This time whatever the idiots have done at the LPG place, my car is worse than ever and refuses to drive on LPG altogether, shuddering like its having a fit and switching straight back to petrol.

The first 4 times there was "no problem at all, car must be cold". I asked them if driving my car for an hour is classed as the engine being cold, especially on a 30+ day. Of course I know the answer myself(duh!) but when they said no, I was like well then how could it just be shaking like an earth quake and the problem is that its just cold then?!!!
Fifth time I was told it was a gas leak. This time it was a faulty LPG injector. Obviously not, hey Holden ?!

I'm so annoyed !

Sounds like you've been borrowing my car. It does exactly the same thing. I found the oil a bit low. When I took it back to the dealer, they said they did a software upgrade. (Sure they did). Anyway, the warning has been coming and going since then, complete with the shudders at the traffic lights. The stereo has done some strange things too. Defaulting back to radio from USB and once came on with no display, just sound. I can't offer a solution, but at least your problem is not unique.

I have been browsing the forum for a fix.
I have a similar problem
Late 2007 Holden Ve Commodore 135,000KM the ESP turns off by itself (unable to turn back on) Check Engine Light then ESP turns back on and this cycle repeats itself - car runs fine with no loss of power
Have taken it to mechanics for service- All Fluids Changed, Air Filter etc but still have same problem.
Mechanic Scanned with the following error message- Air Flow Error, Altinator Charge Error and Wheel Speed Error.
The commodore still needs new platinum spark plugs and new battery (although battery was checked and still 50% charge) so hopefully will fix some errors.
Will try cleaning MAF and ABS sensor.
One thing I have notice, was had to replace right rear wheel with a used tyre due to puncture and I've had these problems ever since.
Anyway Will report back

I believe alot of faults/check engine warnings are generated by the computer and are put in there by the software engineers at Holdens request so they can get cars back into the workshop frequently and give you a load of B/S and tell you your injectors need servicing blah blah, blah!
Do what I did years ago and bought my own scan tool for 30 bucks and read all my own codes and fixed everything myself, that way you don't have to listen to crap the service manager waffles on about which is 9 times out of ten al BOLLOCKS!!!!
I have got 475,000 kms on my 2006 Omega dual fuel and if I had taken it to the dealer as often as it said, I could have paid for a trip overseas for a month!
There may be a time and a place for dealer intervention but I havn't needed it!
