in the article it mentions peak power at a rather high 6800rpm, which makes you wonder what it's more useable low & midrange power is going to be like....

yeah I reckon you could, still for a stocker thats pretty decent. Though this engine with the same aftermarket bits might be in L98 territory (kw wise not torque)

I can drive that but I can't drive a VT SS with less power.

So its 6kw off what the LS6 managed in 2003 and doesnt have the same torque. In a car thats 400kg heavier.
