This is good news.
Break the price fixing monopoly
I used to get my Commodore serviced or repaired at the local dealership where I bought it from.
But their service, marketing and sales tactics were dodgy.
One time I dropped it off for just a basic service, anyway I was wandering around their new car showroom and the service admin guy came out to tell me that one of the rubber drive belts on the front of the engine had a crack and needed replacing.
So I said ok, may as well replace that now while its in the service bay, but I requested they keep the old drive belt so I could inspect it myself, and he said no problem.
20 minutes later he came back and told me, the technician has made further inspsections and the drive belt was fine.
LOL
Then he tried to sell me four new tyres....
I use a local independent service centre now for last 6 years, at least he will now have access to software updates and fault codes etc
