220kms on the clock. The mechanic thought the motor looked to be in good shape. Car had been serviced regularly.
I don't know what the previous owner meant about bad fuel‍they could have put diesel in it for all I know.

Some wreckers do sell good s/h motors at reasonable prices, pays to shop around,
and they are required to provide a warranty for the same, usually a 90day warranty,
So if you do purchase one, get it it installed ASAP.

Depending on the motor that is in it,
Some engines are cheaper than others,
As I know the LFX engines have a higher price tag than LEO's, LLT's etc.

That said, the new items you have paid for could be used on a replacement motor, and possibly will last a bit longer.

Previous owner said what he had to say to move the vehicle on - or basically he lied to you and you believed him.

Sorry but sometimes the truth is difficult to swallow but basically next time you buy a car get it inspected PRIOR to handing over any cash.

I knew he was lying, and I assumed the motor was stuffed. Then the Mechanic convinced me otherwise. I got the car very cheap. I just really liked the car, and thought, well if the motor is no good will just put another in it

do a wet compression test and a leakdown test
your mechanic should know this
unless he is a mate who thinks he is a mechanic, because he bought a haynes manual

We did compression test and was good.

I took pcv valve out and just blew through hose, and the smoke stopped. After about 10 mins of running the smoke started again, so Im thinking give it a good clean or replace it.
Ive also noticed the the engine light is on now, so I don't know about that.
