Bloody horrible things, light bars on road legal cars. Some idiots here fit huge light bars that blind everything on the road.
i dont necessarily disagree with you
theres a new KIA i think SUV that basically has an inbuilt light bar across the bonnet, its annoying as hell to drive towards.
but given zappaboy said he was driving country roads, it seemed suitable

I have wondered if most of the light bars purchased by people are cheap
if you take a look through the stedi website, at least they show the beam patterns
from memory the widest you can fit behind the grill is about 22"
but yeah im sure lots of people buy ebay/amazon/aliexpress specials

I removed a pair of Narva LEDs from the high beams of my wagon a couple of weeks ago. I replaced them with standard halogen bulbs from AC Delco.

The LEDs were whiter, but the illumination from the halogens is no worse, and may even be slightly better.

To start with just put any Philips bulb in there that won't melt your headlights. When I replaced the old original globes in mine there was a good improvement just because the old ones had lost a lot of brightness.
I agree wholeheartedly on that, I used a set of X- tremVision +100%.
Not a bad upgrade for a H7 setup.

While we're on the subject, has anyone got a picture of what the light pattern should look like on the VF? I think someone has adjusted one of my low beams to point dead straight ahead so it needs adjusting. Probably set high to see Roos up ahead but can't see the road LoL

The light pattern and focus method is shown in the pdf of the VF workshop manual ;)

PS: edited to add that Headlight aiming is on page 2172 :p

There's a few of those in SA with a light bar behind the grill that flashes red and blue, and they're annoying behind you if you're speeding!

As earlier stated in this thread I was going to try the Ultinon LED’s in my old man’s Focus but he wasn’t keen on LED’s.
He wanted to try the Philips Racing Vision GT200’s so that’s what I ordered for him. We will see how they go. Got the XtremeVison +150’s for the high beams too.
It won’t be worse I am confident in that.

I thought light bars mounted up front were for illuminating campsites?

Only when coupled with the obligatory "Here Skip" sticker on a 5 Poster.
