That goo is probably seam sealer, I'd leave it. But the floors look pretty good, you could just wore wheel it and then por15 it! Should protect it for just about life!

Honestly, I wouldn't bother...
I've gone over the whole chev conversion thing in my head a few times. To run one, it needs to be straight gas afaik, then new box, possibly better brakes, probably new diff, engineers cert everything else, after rough pricing, I found that a 350/t400/9inch combo is slightly less than an ls1/t790/9inch combo, and in the end, cheaper to run and easier power upgrades. Both will be around the $10,000 mark to complete, that's using mostly new parts. But a 308/trimatic/Salisbury will be less than half, and less hassle since it won't need to be engineered.

I will eventually go an ls1...... Hopefully!

As i understant it, the 350 chev doesnt need engineering, because it was an option in the HQ, thats why it is such a popular upgrade.

I'd be finding out for shaw tw1tch off the roads mob. I think you'll find it needs a ginger beers as HZ never came out with chev motors.
The 1 you linked to that they said was fumie means the motors is ####ed and needs rebuilding. Think about putting vn heads cam and the injection on a 308 see if you allowed to do that with out the cost of the ginger beers or build a stroked 308.

Nsw may be different, but here you need one, because hz never had it. Hq was the last, if it was an hq it'd be a different story. Although, you could be dodgy and re chassis it with an hq chassis and change vin and body plates over....... Just saying same car, different chassis, but not exactly legal!

Oh wait..... This is the sedan, not the ute, won't work, sorry!

I got the first piece of my drive train at last, I picked up a 4 speed manual box and shifter from a mate for $400, just needs a bell house and clutch plate :) pretty pleased
