Hi guys, thought I'd ask for some info on my upgrade.

I've just sold my 2008 VE Sedan which was a 3.6L (I'm pretty sure).

I'm looking to upgrade to 2011 and I see there's a couple of different ones out there.
I have my eye on a 3.0L Aspirated (what does this mean?) with 6 speed sports automatic.

Can someone point out the main differences I'll notice between my old and new? Is 3.0L better than 3.6L these days? (I would have thought the larger capacity would be better?)

I couldn't find a true comparison site between these 2 so thought I'd come to the experts :)

(Still a bit sore after seeing my beloved '08 model drive out my driveway!)

3.6L hands down over the 3.0L

You won't be sore after you buy a 2011 model compared to an 2008 model.
- engine is better
- interior is a lot more modern
- touchscreen, Bluetooth, mobile connectivity
- 6 speed automatic gearbox (shits all over the 4 speed)
- exterior looks a fair bit nicer.

Make sure you get the 3.6L. Comes with the SV6 onwards

Ok cool. It's a 6 speed 3.0L (the one I'm looking at). Is that still better than the 2008 3.6L 4 speed that I had? Or would you still say to avoid the 3.0L. If so, why is the 3.0L a bad thing?
It's an Omega that I'm eyeing.. not an SV6. I don't like the SV6's personally, so am intentionally getting an Omega. I'm not a fan of the body kit.
Plus, $$ are a factor. Otherwise I'd aim for a Calais or a Berlina etc (following the no body kit theme).

As i'm no wordsmith, here's wiki's answer: A naturally aspirated engine is an internal combustion engine in which fuel intake depends solely on atmospheric pressure.
ie no Turbo or Supercharger

Here's a recent thread on another member happy after his purchase of a 2010 Omega (3.0L), lots of discussion in the thread on pro's of the 3.0L and the gearbox: https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/buying-sportwagon.230678

Also, your 2008 Omega would have 3.6L 190kw, and a 2011 Omega or Berlina will have 3.0L 190kw. 2011 Calais will have a 3.6L 210kw engine (same as SV6)
I won't take all the fun and excitement away from you researching to look up the torque difference :)

Yup, atmo or N/A refers to a car that doesnt use any form of forced induction to make power.

Are you saying that if I want an 2011 Omega that it only comes in a 3.0L anyway?

Isnt the 3.0 a SIDI engine? Supposed to be more fuel efficient.

3.6 all the way for me PLEASE. I like a bit of grunt and torque from my V6.

Don't think I have ever driven a Holden 6 with torque. They perform because they put out 210 Kw and 6 speed means they rev responsive. You would have to drive the smaller 1 more than round the block before deciding to own 1 for years. The economy is not much better IMO.
