Hi guys,
When my trans shifts down from 3rd to 2nd I can hear an audible 'clunk' sound. I can also hear it changing from park to reverse. It's been that way for months now but I haven't had the money to have it looked at by a specialist yet.
From what I've read about these transmissions I'm assuming it's stuffed (180,000km) and either needs a replacement or rebuild.
Putting a trans rated to handle 345Nm torque in an AWD with 340Nm seems silly to me.
If I have to get it replaced, is there a stronger option so I'm not setting myself up for failure again in future? If I'm presented with the option to replace or rebuild do I really want to consider a rebuild? Can it be rebuilt stronger maybe?
This is in my V6 VZ Adventra 5SP Auto.
Cheers guys
