Put a quarter of a cup of White King (or any bleach) in there, fill with HOT tap water.
Leave for 30 minutes.
Rinse well with cold water.

Fill with fuel or flammable liquid of your choice and set a light should be good to go in around 5mins or once fully melted. Oh yeah have a fire extinguisher close by and stand clear for safety reasons :)

Nice thread dig on a serious note i just use hot water and a brush and just hose the s#%t out of it if that fails buy a new one.

Escellent advice Guys! Here's another option: turps.
I only had turps (turpentine) in the garage, put in about 50-100ml with "shake the living S**T outta it". It dissolved it immediately, but repeated it 2 more times just to be sure. Finally be sure to flush the turps with water: fill the container with water followed by "shake the living S**T outta it" and repeat it 2 more times.
