Even with cats an injected 304 sounds great.

This is my 1995 VS
Sounds vintage, old school single motorbike / motorboat great.

.
I love it.
You can't beat that old school sound as far as I'm concerned.

Wonder if 200 cell cats would change the sound?

I doubt it.. my guess is that the stock baily tip and smaller diameter of stock catback is causing it

So an update, i ended going to c&a autofashion and had them repace the standard catback with a difilippo 2.5 inch catback retaining bimodal to match up to hurricane extractors and cats, odd match i know but fixed the problem, the sound is very deep now and sounds great :)

Do you still get lots of crackle and pop as per the factory exhaust?

Glad it worked out for you

Did you have the bimodal valves fitted to dpe mufflers or left the oem bimodal
Mufflers in place ?

I had some Hurricane 4 into 1 1 7/8 headers fitted today with a pair of Hurricane 200 cell cats and tuned. It certainly is louder, but i understand now what the raspy sound is, really its just the stock exhaust sound, only louder. Now I think I want a Hurricane cat back!

The Hurricane cat back is pretty raspy as well.
