You say it's been in a smash. How bad was it? What has been replaced when it was repaired?
I don't know when it was repaired as the incident happened before we bought it. I do know that the Air Con condenser was bent in about 5cm as we removed it but haven't put another one back in yet. I believe the front bumper has been replaced (I can't remember if we've taken it off to have a look behind it); and the bonnet I think.

Repco/supercheap/Bursons/Bearing wholesalers can order 10+ different brands. It's just a matter of budget.

Yeah CBC has a budget one as well as the more expensive one. I have bought cheap ebay hub bearings before and it wore out within three months. I replaced it with a good second one and it was still going great five years later.

Ok - I'm willing to bet your left nut it's tire noise you are hearing rather than dead bearings. Most directional tires are loud as fk and get worse as they wear. Sounds **very** much like a dead bearing.

Lol i had those 595's once. At 60kmph they howled, sounded like I had muddies on. Seemed okay above and below that speed, but under braking the noise was there too.

Stub axle on a VX?

The part I'm referring to is where the 4 allen key bolts go through to hold it in place....If that's slightly bent, it will cause wheel bearing failures everytime....

Reading more about the OP's car being in an accident and the damage that has occurred, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the cause...
