Wm statesman l98
Hi guys,

Been having huge issues with my wm statesman l98.

I washed the engine bay and then all of a sudden the brake light would start coming on. So assumed it was the brakes. Change the brakes and then the car started coming up with contact dealer, abs and traction control while driving and went into limp mode.
Removed the wiring harness plugs to clean them all. Plugged it all back in and then the car wouldn’t start. Now still shows all the errors and says no fuel. Had the bcm and ecm cloned to another one. The codes are still showing and the car won’t start.

Tried all the fuses, changed the battery.

Any thoughts

When you cleaned all the plugs, did you disconnect the negative post on the battery first?

Also, check the bulbs for rear brake and tail light. Make sure the filaments are not touching.

Cloned the ecu & bcm, ?

There shouldnt of been anything wrong with those, as they were possibly getting the wrong readings/signals from soggy connections.
Since you cleaned the engine bay,
Would of been best scanning it,
and seeing what the faults were, before loading up the cannon !,

I would have just remained cleaning the plugs and sockets with contact cleaner under the engine bay.

It came up with ecm error code.

I used contact cleaner when I cleaned them.

The only thing I’m leaing towards now is the dash cluster needs to be wiped with a better scan tool

I forgot to mention,
Check all the ground connections,
And the fuses,
(Assuming you would have done those also)
