hopefully someone has a solution to this problem ?

So I parked up for and hour and a half after 20 minute drive I then went to start it up and came up with contact dealer, very low fuel (even after putting another 10l in) and stability control off.
Got a mate out with a snap on scan tool and that was telling us the ecm/ecu had no communication
I have disconnected the battery a number of times
Checked the battery voltage in the engineering mode and was at 12.3v
Have checked for loose earth wires under the bonnet and earth in the battery area
Has anybody resolved a similar problem?
Car is currently stuck in the yard at work

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Cheap scan tools will often not read the system correctly.
There could be a fault with the obd port.

It was a decent one snap on brand the obd port is working, the scan tool picks the car up but gave a code u0100
