My girlfriend drove my commodore to the point where the engine overheated and shut down (I should have checked the water and coolant levels). Water was leaking from the radiator and I discovered it had a hairline crack on the base. Fitted a new radiator today and as I was topping up the coolant it started to leak straight out from underneath of what I assume is the coolant tank at a consistent, heavy flow. Is it likely that the tank has fractured from the engine overheating or a seal has gone? Any advice would be helpful, thanks

Pull the overflow tank out. Find the crack. Weld it with a soldering iron and silicone it.

Or get another one.

Option 1) Pick one up at a wreckers, there is a heap out there,
Option 2) Never let your girlfriend drive your car.
