I've done that with a Bridgestone 3 for 4 and KTAS said we can't beat it and to go to Bridgestone which I happily did.

This is interesting ... I didn’t even know about them claiming to price-beat, so when I called to ask if they’d get close to the Costco price on the Bridgestone 3-for-4 on Potenza RE003’s (only because there’s a KTAS really close to work & Costco is way more of a PITA to get to) I was very pleasantly surprised they beat Costco. Only by about $50 all-up, but it was cheaper and more convenient; close to $200 less than Bridgestone though.

This was late last year (although I see Bridgestone have 4-for-3 again on now).

Me neither and KTAS is more convenient to me as well.

Anyhoo I rang them this morning and told them Costco price.

After checking their reply was that "we can't supply Michelin in that size"

That maybe true but I think more likely that is the stock answer if they can't price-beat.

Still, $285 is a damned good price, RRP is ~$500 if I look at the Jax site!

Yeah, I'm happy with that.

The original Potenzas have plenty of tread on them but I spiked one at Esperance last year and all I could get (without waiting 3 days for a replacement from Perth) was some cheapo that's still on. No complaints though... it got us back across the Nullarbor plus a trip south to Albury.

Planned to replace it/them before Adelaide/Uluru in June or July and at the Costco prices I'll make it sooner rather than later.

I only asked about the PS4S as that is what I was thinking about buying.

Actually, I think it was you who mentioned they are a quiet tyre and that's what got me interested in them.

Let us know what you think of the PS4S's once you've run them in please? I'm planning on fitting those boots when the time comes to kick the Bridgestones.
