Finally got back to Costco tonight.

Well, it was too good to be true.

Old mate remembered me from last week, remembers talking about Michelins... looked up the price, looked at the card I'd jotted the prices on, looked back at screen and tells me he would have been quoting on Bridgestones (even though we weren't taking about Bridgestones).

Oh well, c'est la vie.

20" Bridgestone Potenzas RE050A not Michelins @ $380 each for 3 and 4th one free.

20" Michelin PS4S $430 each (no 4th free deal).

On the plus side I finally joined Costco.

Sorry about the walk up the garden path...

I’ve just put on the Bridgestone re050 as they were on my new redline rims. They are majorly less grippy especially in the wet. The ps4’s rock.

Tyres are an individual choice and what represents a good deal for one person will likely not represent a good deal for another.
You could spend weeks researching tyres. But if you've got 9 minutes and a cuppa tea, you can watch the first half of this review of 2018 UHP tyres (which the SSVR's have), and get a good intro/ summary of some of the best OEM replacement high performance tyre options in today's market.
Interestingly, the reviewer's notes correlate with pretty much all the research I've done on UHP tyre's for different applications over the recent years.

(Note: All but one of the UHP tyres reviewed are available in AUS. Video is for a UK audience. ).

Interesting feedback on the PS4S in this video. Tread wear remaining on these tyres after 11,000 miles of aggressive driving including 800 laps of some track in the US, is impressive. That's what I look for in a tyre. Real world grip + genuine tread wear longevity = VALUE.

I have always loved those HRE wheels........ wanted the for my previous rides but couldn’t stomach the US$12,500 price tag plus freight plus tyres. So I will be settling on the Koya SF10s with the PS4S all round.
