Has anyone got some positive proof (not just you read it or heard it somewhere) as to whether the VN-VS series Commodore was fitted with the BW75 or the BW78 series diff?

MY Holden publications say BW78 but Borg Warner spare parts catalogue say BW75.

My ute has a BW75 axle housing. BW78 axle shafts. BW78 4 spider LSD centre with BW75 gearset.

So yes. Differential identification number can be taken to Holden for reference. But also reading the casting number on the axle housing and identification increments on the crownwheel, pinion gear and differential case will tell the story as well.

I'm a little confused
I have a vx acclaim wagon and was wondering if it would be a bw80 or bw78
Was also looking to fit an LSD to it, am I able to fit the LSD to the existing housing etc?

I just picked up a VL diff to put in my VH later on, Thinking it would be the normal ratio 3.45 I opened it up to check & its 4.11.
Have confirmed with the seller it was the RB20 version. So i guess if anyone wants those gears find a vl with the RB20 in it.

Hi Mate,

Gears are from a 6 cyl VL (BW78) and will fit and BW78 from VL to VT series 1.

I'll part with em for $150
