Ok so what you're saying is it's a reverse hill start up a very steep driveway? I still don't understand why you cant just apply the park brake when you stop, and wait for the car to release it as you start to release the clutch?

I've never tried that in mine in reverse, but I still reckon it would work. Happy to be proven wrong though. The hill start assist works when you haven't applied the park brake.

In the manual it releases the brake when you take off, I forgot to do it the other day and it let me drive off
Also I pulled up and parked on a hill, was on the phone at the time so for got to put the hand brake on I turn the key off took my foot of the brake and relised I hadnt pulled the hand brake but then noticed that the car didnt roll the car had put the hand brake on its self kinda freaky

Same for the auto.
