Evening all

i couple of days ago my pride and joy decided to throw this code and behave very oddly. It idles very rough especially in low revs 500RPM-1000RPM i went and brought new plugs, leads, coils and have installed all of them accordingly yet the code still remains. i noticed tonight while giving it a look over that after i started it i get a very bad rich smell coming from only drivers side exhust (the side with the misfire). There is no other codes and the scan tool does very little in pinpointing the problem. The car is running a OTR and 2.5 catback system but was tuned for it around two years ago. i have my suspects that are.
1.O2 sensor
2.lifters (however no tick or knocking)
3.broken or snapped wires
i have also checked all fluids as well both oil and coolant are fine and not mixing so no head or manifold leaks however no smoke out the exhausts at all.
a mechanic thinks it may be electrical but being so close to Christmas i doubt ill be seen so im trying all avenues in finding the issue.
if you guys need any more details just ask.

CAR IS AN 2006 VE COMMODORE SS :)

MERRY CHRITMAS TO ALL

This may sound odd,
But swap Plug and Coil 6 & 8 about,
Disconnect the Battery doing it,
That will be enough time to reset the DTC,
And see if it re-appears on Cyl 6.

What sort of Scanner are you using ?

Hey krusing the car has done around 275,000km. I’m using a toolpro scanner. I’ll add a photo if I can. The strange thing is when the error came up I used the spare plug I had in the car (brand new) just to get me home yet the error still came up. Got home changed the leads coils and plugs all new and still nothing. I didn’t disconnect the battery tho. I can clear the codes with the scan tool but haven’t tried moving the coil or plugs.

Would help if you had the correct number in your thread heading (you show P0380). The attached item from the Holden VE Service Manual may help you.
