That sounds like a lot of bolliks to me mate. I have the same vehicle and have just towed a van 32000 KLM. My fuel comsumption with 1200 kg hanging off the arse end was around 13 to 100klm. Without that i average 7-8 to 100klm.

Those figures you are talkin are rediculous. ? Id be getting it into your trusted mechanic and getting your ride fully sussed out.

Cheers mate.

Yer, something not right with this story eh.

Just driving around too much in 1st and 2nd gear with frequent downshifts. I get the same poor economy if I am stuck in a conga line of tin-pot assholes all going in the one direction, and held to ransom because the guy in the lead car saw a ghost.

So... just get the car onto the open road, and onto a very long drive, then report on fuel economy: I bet there will be a revelation. Suburban and daily grind traffic should never be interpreted as global benchmark economy; it will also vary greatly among drivers.

If economy remains poor (and continues to get worse) after a long trip, that is the time the engine requires a look -- an analyser/diagnostics will give a fuller picture.

Did you even read post #20?. How did you even measure this magnificent consumption level?

Set my computer to 0 when I left Perth, drove 32000 klm and my computer done the rest. That's it job and those figures were averaged out over the trip. Speed was sitting on 90 kph and driving conservatively.

A simple google search will tell you the VF 3.0 will achieve 7 - 8 litre per 100 klm when driven conservatively without towing, i achieve this easily.

On the other hand if one is doing stop start heavy traffic driving all day long then those figures go out the window .
