Trade it in on something with more capacity.

it's all about saving weight mate..give it some of this and she'll be good for 10's down the strip..View attachment 209564

Those vehicle ID Stickers on the 'B' Pillar are totally unnecessary weight and would be gone if it was my car.

Very humorous, gents! Just spoke to my trusted mechanic who is back from his belated annual holiday. He suggests changing the air intake from the stock standard airbox and filter to a kit with a higher air capacity. He's done this with a few V8 and 3.6 V6s but not the stock 3 litre. He believes it would give the engine about four or five more Kw. and can be done for less than a grand. I'm good with that. So now he is pricing things up for me.

Does that include a dyno tune ?

If not, sounds like you're being stitched.

vz sedan vs ute gsx1400
i know the 3 ltr have low down torque i tried to keep up with one from a standing start at traffic lights in my vs ute it had 2 little exhaust and it pulled away
if you have a dashcam fitted with gps you can see how quick it is from 0-60 ute does it in 8-9 seconds i haven t done it to the vz yet
just keep the fuel and weight the same and when you watch the replay time it with a stop watch on a phone
if you do it before and after this will tell you if it was worth it

honestly if the gain you are getting for a grand is only giving you a 5kw increase then dont do it, you are not even going to notice 5kw.
a 5kw variation can be found just driving on hot and cold days and it is really insignificant unless all you are after is a number on a dyno sheet.
