Hello so my holden berlina (commodore) had a check engine light come on i plugged in my obd2 and it said misfire on cylinder 4 as well as the poo16 code (Crankshaft Position-Camshaft position correlation Bank 1 Sensor A)

So i replaced all the spark plugs because im not sure which is cylinder 4 and cleared both codes.
after about 100km the poo16 code came back and not the misfire code.

Engine still runs very rough especially at low RPMS

I have cleaned the Mass Airflow sensor and put a new air filter into it.
I pulled out both camshaft position sensors and they were very dirty so i gave them as good clean as i could with mass airflow sensor cleaner and a clean rag.
Still running very rough and it is going to cost me $450 to replace 1 sensor so I thought id come to these forums to see if anyone has any ideas for me to do before having to pay that much and it might not fix the problem.

Any help is much appreciated thank you.

The photo is of the cam actuator, not the cam sensor.

I’d imagine your timing chain is buggered and in need of love.

You can test the actuators.

The timing can be verified with an oscilloscope which then gives a positive diagnosis, not a guess. Until the timing wave form data is viewed, it’s all guesses.

No the sensor is not on the end of the actuator. The cam sensors are a separate thing.

The actuator you have controls oil pressure into the variable cam timing.

The cam sensors are almost next to them. LE0 have two actuators and two cam sensors. LY7 will have four cam actuators and four cam sensors.
