Alright so I would love and appreciate some help with what I want to do, I want to make my VE Calais loud as possible, but keep the stock system present at the same time. So I’ve come to the conclusion of cutout valves. ((Please refer to the attached picture, what I need to know is circled in RED)) But I need to know the diameter of the inlet of the very first muffler on the STOCK system.

My question is, what is the measurement of what I circled in red?

I know the photo is of the v8 exhaust. But mine is a V6. It is just for reference.

U do realise that a v6 with cutouts that close to the engine will sound like absolute crap!!! Don’t bother wasting your money mate

Wrap a piece of string around it. Measure the string and do the sum from there.

But, as said previously. It will sound like a sloppy wet fart.

I had redback muffler delete on it and it sounded pretty great. But yeah now that I think about it. Doesn’t seem like it’ll sound that good. But I’ll probably do it for the lols then remove it if I don’t like it

Be aware of the Noise pollution that you can be charged with,
the Public will get your rego, report it, and the SA police with slap with a un-roadworthy sticker on it, and EPA can fine you for the same.
and you have to get the whole car roadworthy and again,
think of the expenses that could cost, on top of that, think about the hefty fines !,
and time messing around getting it to and from the Roadworthy place,
Think about it, is it financially worth it, you would be best to put you money something into better to appreciate your car,
than to depreciate it. !

Are you trying to go between open headers and the stock exhaust?

I have a 5.8ltr stroker/cammed V8 and tried that one day with headers ~24" extensions, no mufflers.
Sounded ****. I imagine a late model stock V6 will sound worse.

I usually have it going through a single hooker aerochamber and dumped at the diff for drags, and it sounds awesome (even got a picture in NZV8 mag with caption of how nice it sounds)

Yeah something like that, cause I want it loud at times. But very quiet at other times.
