I also unplugged the ac trinary switch near the front bumper and tried it will no luck still 12v at the relay coil terminal when the key go's to ignition. So I don't think it's an over pressure ac triggering it as I've read else where. I also check the earth side of the relay coil incase it was switched that side but I have solid earth continuity at all the key positions

Ecu Coolant temp sensor, the vs has two,
one is for the gauge which is 1 wire
One is for the ecu which is 2 wire, this is the one to check.

Check the plug is still connected, unplug and replug it. Turn ignition to reds to see if it's fixed it. If not, you may have to change it.

It's not showing codes but I wonder if it could be a simple faulty ecm.
Is the ecm pcm replaceable with any vs or is that part that needs the key coding with it.

As long as it has the same service number you’re right to plug it in. Make sure it’s the same engine type.

AFAIK the service number doesn't matter too much for a VS as long as it's the from same model and engine like you say. Maybe for the roller V8s, but every other one is pretty much interchangeable.

They all share the same service number (part number) for each engine type :)

Series isn't an issue, but the transmission must be the same type, even for manual (T5 ECU won't work with a Getrag ECU without modification). Easy for auto though. Don't worry about gearbox numbers, you just need to find one for a V6 auto.
