Hey guys I am looking at clearing an airbag light on my VS Commodore
Obviously as the older commodores still run the the OBD1 as opposed to the OBD2 would I need a OBD1 compatible machine to clear the codes I have tried to on my current scan tool but it appears to be greyed out and I am assuming that would be why as it’s only a OBD2 compatible machine Autel mk 808bt

Just take the globe out...

Have you changed or replaced something and now the light is on or it just came on by itself ?

If the fault has been rectified try removing the engine fuse for 20 seconds. If that doesn't fix it then there might be a problem with the clockspring.

What Losh said or disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear any codes.

Disconnecting the battery does not reset airbag fault codes, only engine/trans codes and maybe ABS codes. You need to either fix the problem or get a Tech1 (or equivalent) scan tool to identify the problem, fix it and get the codes reset.
