Bad news... stopped operating again & the fuse started blowing again. It’s the F2 fuse for reference.
Took it to Robertson Holden on Monday, they’ve said there is definitely a fault with the blower motor (even the second hand one that’s in the car now) & have quoted me just over $1k for a brand new one to be shipped in from Australia. Any alternatives? Anything else I can do? At this point I just want to get rid of it but think that’ll be difficult with no wind! :(

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Hmm. I do recall the Ford territory blower was really similar. Also the VF. I’ve seen new VE blowers, on eBay when I was looking, for $150-$250.

I ended up trying to use a VF blower into my VZ but I couldn’t get the motor back together once separated because of the magnets being so strong.

It’s a job you can do yourself.

On another note, it’s unusual for a blower to pop a fuse. Is there water getting into the motor? If so it will be from where the cabin filter goes. The bit that seals against the firewall.

Using a trim tool, you can get that open a bit and get some silicone/sealant in there?

It might be a long shot but worth checking out on a Saturday morning.

Start by removing the glove box to access the blower. Remove that and inspect the intake housing. You’ll be looking for evidence of water trails through the dust and schmutz inside.
Does it look like going into the motor assembly? Inspect that.

If so, go to the next step of removing the windscreen cowl a bit to access the air intake box. Check the drain in there, (back left corner) unblock the pipe in there. Unblock the big drain part too which empties to the wheel well.

Worth a go.
