Just update: Spoken to Holden customer care. It's a Holden issue and their engineer are in the process of making a new software upgrade. They know about the problem.

Changing the radio won't fix it.
Looks like next year it will be updated. Until then have to wait.

Who advised you it was an iQ fascia issue?

I will be contacting Holden customer assistance in the morning re my case number for a progress update. The issues is currently still being investigated by Holden engineers.

The normal process is Apple release software updates to Holden for testing prior to official release to the public. In the case of iOS10 Holden claim they were not consulted. I will mention the advice you've received.

I'll be in touch soon.

Holden service department at my local dealer advised me it was the facier issue, after they contacted Holden.

So I thought I would contact Apple and Holden to get the direct answer. Which I did, now I'll contact them again in Feb 17.

Apple have really **** the bed on this one, considering all the different cars Bluetooth they've messed up and the fact they can't even get their own fancy new wireless headphones working properly I'm starting to think it's possibly deeper than software. Just search the net for issues, many owners of different cars are having major issues not just Holden. BMW are the biggest other manufacturer affected and their line appears to be - "this is Apples fault". "Facia issue" sounds like they are swapping out the bluetooth module itself.

Advice received today is that Holden engineers are currently working with apple to develop a fix for the issue.

Holden are not aware of this advice being issued as the fix. When I say Holden I am not talking about the dealer level. Holden believes swapping the fascia will not fix the issue as it is only an interface with the software and controls contained in the radio box behind.

If you can provide further details of the dealership which gave you the advice it will be looked at further.

Cheers

I got more information contacting Holden customer care about this problem.
The local dealer got that information about changing the facier from the department they rang.

The dealership which service my car is western suburbs of Melbourne. I contact them today, told them about what Holden customer care and Apple advised. I'll give them a call again Feb next year.

Hey everyone,

Received a phone call from Holden Customer Care re my case. I had mentioned the possibility that some dealerships are being advised to replace the iQ fascia. Holden TAS have not advised this as a fix.

Holden technical engineers have advised the following.

"there is no fault identified with the current Holden iQ system, its touch screen interface or other hardware. The issue raised in respect of the Bluetooth not functioning correctly when answering a phone call has been identified as a software issue associated with the phone, in this case, iPhone's running iOS10. Customer will have to raise this issue with the software developer for correction."

What a load of crap! Why would expect anything else!!!

I phoned Apply Technical Assistance this evening who advised me there is a new iOS10 update (iOS10.2). In the release notes is mentioned bug fixes for 3rd party Bluetooth devices. I've updated my iPhone to 10.2 and the issue continues. I phone Apply Technical Assistance back and they ran a diagnostic of my device which resulted in an "all clear, no errors".

They have provided me with a technical fault reference and have referred the issue to the iOS software developer team who will call me back tomorrow at 10am to trouble shoot the possible cause. I might get lucky with Apple tomorrow in getting to the bottom of the issue.

I'll let you know how I go.

I received a call back from Apple production specialist. They have documented the problem and have escalated the issue to the Apple software engineer team in Singapore. They understand that Holden is not prepared to rectify their software.

As this issue was not present in iOS 9.3.5 (previous version to iOS10) it was indicated to me that a software bug which witches the audio through the Bluetooth has come into iOS10.

They advised me it will take approximately 3 to 4 businesses days to receive a response. Again I am hopeful that can rectify the issue.

Will update this thread once I receive more information.

Cheers

Do a search mate, effects GM in the US and also BMW - Apple fault if you ask me. Mind you it wouldn't be the first time GM have had BT issues....

We have comments from readers that there are still Bluetooth problems reported with BMW, Audi, Acura, MINI, GM(Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Buick), Honda, Kia, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Lexus, Fiat, Hyundai, Chrysler, Acura, Mazda and more.

Yeah cheers buddy,
I did inform the Apple rep that the issue has been reported in the media affecting other brands of car bluetooth systems including BMW. I said that if Apple cant/wont fix it, vehicle owners will simply change phone brands. Cheaper option that changing a car just to have an Apple product work.
