Well everyone has already mentioned the main drawcards that the Redline has over the SSV so ill just +1 for the Redline.
I'm very happy with my Redline and I'm also modding it HP wise too.

Cheers

Vf ssv sedan
I worked for a holden dealership for 10 years and could have had a redline for a amazing price but went for the ssv for a few reasons.

1. Staggered wheels means you can't rotate them.

2. HUD seems cool at first but after a while it gets annoying.

3. Unless you are planning to supercharge you don't need big brakes.

4.
If you want big brakes and suspension it doesn't cost that much.

5. Ssv came standard with satnav.

VF II SSV Redline
Living in Victoria, HUD is the best feature of any new car. When I first got my VF I CalaisV, it took a little while to get used to it, but after three months, you just look through it and refocus your eyes to see your speedo. I love it in my VF II Redline, I don’t think I could buy a car without it now.

I pooh-poohed the HUD at first, but it’s become difficult to live without it!

Ever since I first saw HUD on fighter jets I've liked the idea. Now, having had it on my car for 4 years I'm like dgp and Forg -- don't want to be without it!

I’ve found the HUD surprisingly useful too. Its become the primary speedo that I use when driving. I also have the speedo showing in the little driver information display in the instrument cluster too for the times that sun glare makes the HUD hard to read. I hardly ever look at the actual speedo!

SSV’s are fairly rare; they were ditched for 2017, mostly because buyers either bought the cheapest V8 option (SS) or went all-out (Redline). Dealer we bought our SSVR from said he sold very close to the same number of SS’s & SSVR’s, and maybe 10% as many SSV’s as either of those two.
HUD was probably the main reason the Better Half went for SSVR; if we’d been looking at VF2, she’d probably have gone the SSV (in wagon form you paid the same extra for an SSVR over SSV as a sedan - except you didn’t get the stereo or sunroof & the wheels look the same to most people).
