Commodore VY Ute 2003
Hey guys, a little while ago I put a l67 into my vy Ute. All is going well but it seems to have a lump on idle like theres a vacuum leak somewhere. I noticed under the throttle body there was a vacuum hose that was open. So I blocked it up with a screw and the idle went smooth. But when I went to take off the car just died out. When I unblocked it the lumpy idle came back and was fine to drive. Doesn’t really affect how it drives when it’s unblocked just gives it a lumpy idle. Anyone know why? Is it alright to leave it unblocked?

Nope.

The small vacuum line goes to the purge valve on the back of the drivers side head.

There is a number of Vac lines on a L67, and could be any one them,
Could be either a broken fitting, or perished vac hose.
I found the plastic to the right-hand rubber connectors split on my L67,
Replaced them with rubber vac hose.

Best to get it smoke Tested, as that will locate the Vac leak/s.
