HI
I am in the processing of changing an LFW engine (donor car is about 2015 VF Commodore and recipient is a 2011 VE Commodore. Initially most research said just a sump change however we have run into a couple of significant differences. The loom connections around the fuse box are completely different. However the other quite significant difference appears to be in the power steering. So the VE Series 2 has hydraulic power steering where as the VF motor has this missing altogether.
A bit more research seems to indicate that the VF has electric power steering!!!! Has anyone got any insights on this please. The job is certainly turning out a lot bigger than just a sump swap. Thanks

Have to use everything from the 2011 on the new engine, power steering, loom etc as those things are different so you have to unbolt all the brackets etc and reuse. So basically strip the VF back to just an engine and put everything from the 2011 on it.
Otherwise it is identical but you will need your ECU modified slightly as the 2011 LFW has different size injectors to the 2015, they changed over on Dec 1st 2011 to the different size injectors.
Do not use the 2015 air cleaner and intake or loom as it will not work on a 2011 ECU and you will be tearing what little hair you have left out :D
Contact me if you want your ECU modified or find someone in Qld that can do it.
