Why don't you sell/upgrade your current car & get something similar on dual fuel? Cost me $40-$45 per tank of lpg & I get 700kms.

Why not put your commodore on LPG? The newer systems they got perform well and when you want the extra power, you can switch it off. My old V6 VX had LPG and it ran as cheap as a 4 cylinder. Plus you won't have to pay more for insurance and another car to register every year.

My V8 caprice also has LPG and have been very happy.

'Ruby' 1991 VN Exec & '98 Proton M21 Coupe
We got a 98 Proton M21 Coupe. Nice lil 4 cyl car, sporty, and pretty quick considering. Most of these are selling at the moment for around 2-5k. Not sure how many km's we get to a tank, but costs $40 to fill at $1.39 per litre for fuel. Probably get close to the 500km per tank mark, as we can drive to my dads (197 km from my house), drive around there, home again and still have fuel left over out of a full tank.

Normally I'm not a fan of any small car, but I do have a soft spot for the Proton.

Not interested in an LPG conversion for the commodore atm.

What i'd be gaining the most from having a 2nd car, is having something to learn/drive manual in, i'd still have the auto commodore to drive to work and such while i get my confidence up to drive a manual.

Gas is crap, you'd do well to stay away from it.

Half the price!! *fill up twice as much* (And flog out the motor in the mean time.)

lololo...scooter = fail on the dont wont a slug meter...

You would be surprised how quick some of them are.

As others have posted though - a 90's Pulsar or Carolla are both excellent choices.

Btw - how long does it take you to do 400km??? day, 3 days, week, fortnight??? You might find the extra costs of running another car are way more expensive than just keeping what you have.
