Loud bang from right rear quarter!!! Wtf is it???

Check for axial movement in the cv's, sounds like that could cause it. Could be binding up and the bang you hear is it releasing. Or the diff internals. Was it only noticed with the new diff?

what do u mean cvs? and it was making the noise before the new diff, but it is worse since all those parts have come out and been undone then put back in..

Constant velocity joints. The rear axles in other words. Maybe swap it to the other side and see if the sound goes to the other side too

hmm cant find anything, but one thing i found is under the boot carpet was a whole bunch of self tapping screws in the metal.... all in random location, and under this is a sort of rectangular box which the back part of the diff is connected to... from what i can tell none of them actually do anything because the box thingy is hollow.. but really wired :S

Have a look at the sway bar link pins, have had them snap off and bang exactly how you are saying
