Hi all. I know this sounds very dumb but I bought a VX S PAC and someone has put in an LS1 and blew it up. I bought it as is but I want to put it back to an ecotec. I’m just wondering if the motors, Ecu’s, wiring loom etc are the same from VS-VY? Or can I only use VT-VX parts? Thanks guys.

Why not just get another LS and have a V8 instead of a V6?
Would probably be cheaper than converting it back to a V6.

What would be cheapest is to park it and buy a VT for $1500 with a V6 already installed.

Well yes, but if you’re going to do anything to the existing car then putting another V8 in it is going to be the most cost effective option.

Exactly, which is why I made the comment.

That LS block better not be getting chucked. Such a great motor.

If you are up for a conversion, gee-whizz you could just strip the LS and do a freshen up on it. Way quicker and easier. Less money than converting it back.

There is a global shortage of LS blocks, so don’t ever chuck it away. They are wanted, dead or alive.

An Ecotec conversion is the single most ridiculous thing I’ve heard all day.

Can be freshened providing the blow up didn't add an extra hole or 3 as a result... :)

Agreed, unusual ask doing this conversion
