Also, to confirm, yours is an 02 VX2 or 02 VY1?

The diagram from the manual worked it’s all good now I was just confused because the filter hose was on the left most connection but there are arrows on the pump showing fuel flow in and out, logically fuel flows out to filter and returns back on other side.

The car is VX2 V8 and the factory plug was the oval connector. From what I’ve seen so far square plug is 2001 back V6/V8, oval is 2002+ and the other square one is VZ V6 and possibly Ute V6 VU-VZ

Mines got the square plug 2001 Calais LS1 . What I do remember is 1 of the fittings was tricky to fit back on needed to be pushed firmly. Maybe compare the diameter and lengths of your old pumps snap lock fittings with the new pump ..if they are the same then it should fit..

I have a 2000 SS as well and was thinking of dropping the tank to check but I’m certain it will have the square plug whether V6 or 8
