Was able to purchase an original w407 camshaft from walkinshaw mainly because I live around 1500km from any authorized walkinshaw workshop

W407 or W557 is the Same cam
I haven't opened the cam pack yet.
But Revster has the info
W407 cam

hot dog do you have the valve lift specs and advertised duration of the w407 cam, you should have a cam card or sheet with the specs in the cam box if you could post a picture of this spec sheet would be great, also if your installing a 3 bolt cam you might want to buy parts to convert it so your engines using the correct chain tensioner and parts for the 3 bolt cam for long term reliability as your engine will have a single bolt cam set up, its not expensive so everything matches up, thanks mate

Thanks .05 I've checked inside the cam box and all I can find is a sticker on the side of the box. Will ring walkinshaw about the card and if it's a 3 bolts cam or not.

I checked the cam this morning and it's a 3 bolt cam. Walkinshaw have been very good to me So I'm not willing to post the specs card sorry.

Why not, Walkinshaw wouldn't provide the spec sheet if it's that big a secret?

I'd guess it's a tried and trusted grind that Walkinshaw would have rebadged like everything else they sell.

Replacing the Pushrods

My mechanic said that he doesn’t normally replace the stock Pushrods when changing a cam. Unless the customer request it.


Should I request an upgrade Pushrod kit for my new Cam 222 228 @116 lsa ?

Jeez, I hope he at least's checks the lengths to see if he's close to being 'on specs' for correct valve train geometry...
