All engines produce pressure in the crankcase when running and this forces oil mist out of the crank case "blowby".
For emmission reasons this blowby cannot be released into the atmosphere so there is a system for sucking this blowby back into the engine through the Positve crancase valve "PCV" but as engines age this blowby is too much for the PCV and some of the mist is force back into the intake tract which is supposed to be the clean air intake for the carnkcase.
The catch can goes into the breather line to catch this oil and stop it getting into your intacke where it can dilute your intake charge and in some cases cause premature pinging "detonation" which is bad for the engine.
Hope that helps.

PWR auto trans cooler fitted.

Little update.

Just fitted a PWR automatic trans cooler kit and it was so easy.

I've had it sitting on the shelf since before summer and only just got around to fitting it.
Hardest part was separating the quick connect from the passenger side tranny steel line using the tool supplied in the kit.
The kits come stickered for VY1&2 but you just flip the cooler to face the drivers side of the car in a VZ, everything else is the same.
Here are some pics.
First 3 shown in situ bolted to factory holes already in rad support panel.

Finally a shot of a new badge I fitted to the front grille, not sure whether I like it or not.

Very clean looking car mate, The Senators look mint. I love that Blue with the cream interior - Defiantly gives me inspiration for my next project.

To top it off all you want is massive sound system now, With x2 15's thumping away in the boot :p

Mate on another note, Interior lighting in those cars. Do you have a switch in the center console that controls all the interior lights? If so is it a dimming one? (You can PM me if need be - Just i am modding my interior lighting and need some info)

Cheers,
Super6
