What did you think of the decals on the red Motorsport? I'm going to go white so I get all the red highlights. What did you think of the wheels? Did the red band stand out enough along with the holden word etched into the alloy?

The decals look quite good actually and not tacky like i first thought. Red band also looks good around the rims too. Holden etched logo on the rims doesnt stand out much but you can def notice it when you look at them.
I think a white motorsport would look very good in the flesh, especially with a black wing.

Anyone know if mrc does anything in regards to changing ride height in the 3 different modes?

was the black magnum ute there? What did the red highlights (mirror, DRL, Decal) look like? Was the red a nice gloss red or not? As I read somewhere they are the colour Red Hot paint and not just coloured injected plastic red

Hi All
I been lurking for past few months, and information here has been great, around colours, since that was biggest sticking point, since all the colours past few years have been pretty boring.

Was told two days ago from fleet company that the SSV redline wagon that was 'sold out', They have said what holden have told them. How can be sold out they are still making cars, and cars can be ordered.

So in turn contacted two dealers who said they can order me car, but with no discount/fleet prices avaiable.
One dealer quoted me over $2500 from what is listed on the holden site for and i asked whats the difference and he saids its extra dealer delivery fee, even tho the holden site says it includes dealer delivery.

Gone back to fleet company, told them to go back, and push harder since they are not sold out.
Not happy since, honestly there is no other cars around we want, we like wagons, and there is no good performance wagons around. that are not 6 figures

I don't know why holden has decided to make the prices public without a caveat that dealers will have only a limited number of each car type (sedan, wagon, ute) available. So someone goes to their holden dealer to order say an SS, only for the dealer to say we have no SS allocated. Yet the person gets pissed off saying well the advert says I have until march to place an order yet its Feb so why wont Holden build me an SS?. Same scenario for a wagon or ute. Buyers will simply get the shits and look elsewhere.

I have today decided to change my Motorsport colour to red (instead of white) with the black big spoiler and red wheel caps. Although I liked the white and the red highlights (especially from the back and front on) my wife did not like it saying it looked 'stupid', especially the red mirrors. Anyway happy with the red, never had a red car so I might as well do it for the last Aussie V8.

I agree with other posters that it would have been good if Holden gave us more help with pictures of the different colours rather than people trying to guess what they look like.

I have ordered my Magnum in Red Hot, but I'm waiting to see SOAG in the flesh...
As production doesn't start until June, there's a bit of time to change my mind.

No, ride height stays the same in all 3 settings.

my dealer wanted the final choice made on colours today so that they could lock it all in (not sure why when production is some way off yet)

Yeah the black magnum ute was there. It looked ok, im not a big fan of black or utes so not really fair to comment. The red DRL surrounds are a nice gloss red and looked fine to me. Didnt look painted at all to me but i could be wrong.

I was told we didnt have to decide until April...

We were lucky enough to score a visit to holden hq in Melbourne this morning and see the cars in the flesh before they are shipped off to adelaide this afternoon.
Weren't allowed to take any photos for some stupid reason, chick on security was being a hard case. Girl who showed us through couldnt understand why as there were a million photos out there anyway...
Anyway all i can say is the SOAG Director looks awesome in the flesh! Lots of metalllic sparkle to it and def no colour matching issues on this one. The black grill looks spot on along with the other changes and gives it a much harder look than a normal calais. Only thing is the black roof blends in alot and doesnt stand out much, maybe in the sun it will. This is where maybe a nitrate director could be the best mix/balance for us.
The white one does look mint too although we did notice for some reason it is sitting about 40mm lower than all the other cars there including the motorsport...
One thing we noticed on the white director is it has some white/grey strips down the middle of the seats, on the dash lh side and in the stiching. Where as its a very dark grey on the SOAG and red stiching.
These cars really are euro quality without a doubt now and we are stoked to be getting on of very few directors.

And for the motorsport fans, you will def not be disappointed with a red one!

Glad you got to see the cars in the metal. I believe the white Director is a mock up for styling evaluation purposes based on an older Calais-V, hence the interior /ride height is not to final spec. The Grey car is build #001 which I think will be auctioned for charity.
No photos is a Holden site security thing and also applies to employees.

I think the white Director had a standard Calais V back seat and probably why it had the white grey stitching so its not quite up to spec and probably a earlier design vehicle. The SOAG Director is what the finished product will be including its ride height.
