isnt that where the 1.5V battery cums into play now im not an installer like u guys but that was 1 of the 1st tricks i was taught 2 use as it sounds differently wen it pops if u have the wires round the wrong way

nope sounds exactly the same. The trick is that when you have + to + and - to - the speaker will move forwards, when you have them reversed, the speaker will go backwards.

no the battery test tells you what spkr it is
like if you touch a battery across the wires it makes a pop sound whether its = or - and tells you what spkr it is like front left or rear right and so on

yes it moves forward and back but if ya cant see prks then ya wont know 100%

ahh k yer thats wat i was taught but not bout the speakers moving forward and backwards if u cant see them ive only used it 2 test which sides the spreakers r on then just followed the correct colours neways but thats handy 2 clear that up :thumbsup:

Daron for your information i dont need to look at speakers to work out phasing.

Everyone has different ways of doing things.

I said a multimeter and a battery is a start for someone who is a NON EXPERIENCED installer.

If you wire speakers out of phase, you can hear if they are out phase by using the fader and balance settings yes, but to correctly get the + and - around the right way you need to look at the speaker movement.

Simply stated IF YOU DONT KNOW THE WIRING COLOURS, the above procedures will help you work out everything you need to know.
